anybody can answer these questions?

 

1) i wanna use clip-on handlebars, but i have to move my headlight lower. Got any brackets that can clip onto the forks so that i can move the light lower or not? as opposed to the 'welded' brackets that rxks have on.

 

2) wats the largest size rear tire that can be used on rxk? 100/90 can or not?

 

3) ANYBODY KNOW WHERE TO MAKE CAFE SEATS? and HOW MUCH? asked the ppl on the vintage /cafe thread, but tak layan. haha.

 

4) anybody know how much it would cost to send my frame for pressing or something? the frame just below the seat is senget. nothing dangerously serious or anything. just irritatingly ugly.

 

5) has anybody ever tried sending their tanks for welding or something to extend it further into the seat, making it longer and thus increasing fuel capacity? if have, how much ah? and where?

 

6) alternatively, is there any other tanks that would look nice on RXK?

 

7) that day got somebody wanted to sell me RXK manual for 10 bux but i havent been online for so long. still have or not? haha..

 

8) it seems like most RXKs have problems with their electric system, eg. IU, meter, lights dun work when bike is turned on. only works during revving / riding. what is the problem?

 

9) Anybody here wants to seel RXK parts / accessories?

2. alternatively, u can also adjust the clutch cable to fully De-clutch.

 

yeah, i fully 'de-clutched' it. but found it, its actually the push rod i think. it was misaligned a bit, therefore clutch couldnt engage.

 

but dat problem solved, came another one. fuel tank had an internal corrosion and now there's a hole at the base of the fuel petcock.

 

sad and disappointing.......

hi, im planning on getting an rxk, and i want to mod it into a military looking one. planning on spraying the tank army green, changing the headlight to the round ones, speedometer change to single, seat planning to have it double. thats about it, any more suggestions, as im not very good with bikes. and can anyone roughly let me know how much it cost?

anyways to improve the fc of rxk? do different 2t oils affect the fc as well? what other factors affect the fc? it's been a question mark for me for quite sometime with regards to 2t bikes. My mechanic told me fc cfm high for 2t bike de. but y huh. any one here knows the ans? the forum quieten down again haha. ben how is ur bike le?

Just brought a 1983 RXK for a malaysian owner, he is leaving s'pore and sold it 2 me at S$200.

 

Send this bike for repair, Ts morning.

 

 

Converted to 12V

1. 1 New Battrey $45

2. 4 New Signal bulb $8

3. 1 New Signal Condenser $12

4. 1 New Hand Lam Socket $ 8

 

Change of Horn

1pcs of 2nd Hand Air Horn and 1 pcs of 2nd normal Horn $20

(So that i can change the horn when i go for inspection)

 

Full Set of 2nd Hande meter $40, 2nd Hand RPM Cable $5

 

Complete Set of 2nd Hand Front Brake Pump with lever, new brake pads and Stainless Steel tube. $ 80.

 

 

New Org Ingition Switch $48.

 

New Fuel Filter $8

 

New Org rear brake pads $18

 

Labour $30 (for 4 hours!!!!!!!!!!)

Big is certainly a warning but small can be downright scary! Never underestimate the effectiveness of small.

Prices sound reasonable enough. 1983 reminds me of my RXS that is still laid up... :p

usually i will ride at 110 to 120km/h on expressway. but my meter like not zhun de. i think my 110 is 100km/h. but seriously y 2t bike like tt. i wanna know sia. rxk fc like a abit better than sp onli lol. actually i also dunno how to measure cus my tank no gauge. then i cant pump full also cus later turning the petrol spill out from the tank.

1) i cant ans ur q sia. lol side track abit. eh clip on handle bar u attaching to rxz fork or rxk fork? will it be too low? my handle bar not very low but its lower than the original rxk handle bar. while riding sometime too low not comfortable sia. esp to the balls. cus keep leaning forward. dunno if those hu had changed to clip on had this uncomfort prob?

Meters on 2B bikes are all not as zhun as the 2A n above bikes. 2strokers are known to be more fuel sucking than 4strokers. There is no 2 ways about that. But u enjoy the power and less changing engine oil often. :thumb:

Finally got somebody answer. Eventhough ur answer isnt what im looking for, at least u answered. hahaha. nvm. Since i posted that i've found out alot of things already.

 

Im using RXK forks. Clip ons will be low, but thats how i want it to be. I think it will be lower than how ur bars are right now. And it will definitely be uncomfortable. haha. But i dont mind.

 

Now i wanna know if anybody can answer questions 2, 4 and 9 only.

the smaller bikes are always like that la. the meter's never accurate. Just know that if ur riding 100 on your meter, its actualli 90 or so. its always abit slower than wat the meter reads.

 

and RXK fc is better than sp.

 

if ur tank cap leaking, nvm. most of the yamaha RXK / RXZ tank caps like that la. If it happens, what u can do is use the white plumbing tape, u know the kind they wrap on pipe joints so that its tighter and waterproof? ah the white tape in the blue round casing.

 

use that, wrap on the inside of ur tank cap. Do it a few times, do as much as u can. Once theres alot right, the first time u wanna close ur tank cap, u must push harder. But after that, your tank wont leak anymore. if u need pictures, i can show.

 

alternatively, u can go to bike shops and ask for the rubber ring, like gasket like that, for ur tank cap. that will solve ur leaking tank.

hey, i just realised.

 

U changed ur RXK to 12V? How's that working out for u? How's the electrical power now? got dimming lights on idling anymore or not?

 

Total cost for converting to 12V is how much ah?
