sorrie ... can i ask where is GP Esso ???

can bikes other than phamton join ?

Bikes of any make/model can join in.

Originally posted by josephsbs in the Friday Night Ride thread.

Route to GP Esso

a) ride along AYE heading towards Tuas, till very end is Tuas checkpoint

b) go through Singapore immigration, need cash card to pay toll $0.60

c) ride over the 2nd link bridge and straight to Malaysian immigration - Sultan Abu Bakar checkpoint... about 5km from Tuas checkpoint

d) keep left, go through Malaysian custom, get your passport stamped (get your "white card" ready before arrival)

e) ride forward for about 800m to Tg Kupang Toll Plaza, keep left, pay toll of RM1.30

f) ride forward for another 500m and exit left at the 1st Rest & Service area (think its the 2nd exit on left), Esso Gelang Patah is there. lookout for the signboards showing logo of petrol stations, restaurants, toilets, etc.

I love the responsibility of riding smartly.

I love riding alone on a motorcycle.

I love riding in groups.

I love how motorcycles make me feel the hero I'm not.

hi osfar

apart from gathering the bikers, you also need to have a plan on many additional things, such as:

~ trip briefing, so that everyone knows their part

~ touring arrangements... lead bike, last bike, runner bike, safety bike, etc

~ communications... between first bike & last bike very important, in case 1st bike chiong all the way leaving others far far behind

~ rest & pump petrol stops

~ emergency numbers to call... for the rider (hospitals/clinics/other riders) and also the ride (motortiams)

~ action plan if a bike break down

~ etc

if u want, i can bring a pair of walkie talkies (>8km range) but i got no hands free for them lor :thumb:

:cheeky:

may all be well and happy

Thanks josephsbs for highlighting the important points, will get the relevant numbers and provide an update soon.

In the meantime I would like to assume yourself and bennyDcode as confirmed participants, so the riding formation will be staggered with you as the lead, I will be in the middle and bennyDcode as the last biker. As the lead bike you will not need to worry about the route as it will be a straight forward which we can confirm as and when required.

Communications will be by hand signals which we'll confirm just before the ride.

I love the responsibility of riding smartly.

I love riding alone on a motorcycle.

I love riding in groups.

I love how motorcycles make me feel the hero I'm not.

Rain or shine i'll be riding unless thunderstorm with floods. I can take over as the lead bike but hope Josephsbs does not get stopped by the rain

I am also still trying to get hold of a confirmed tow truck who can tow the bikes in the event of unrecovereable breakdown. As for other emergencies we can call 60 999.

actually, ride under rain can be considered as new experience.

i've ride/drive before in knee deep flood on streets (not in singapore, my hometown) and feeling is really good..( u cant tell where is pothole, gutter, pavement, street, just test ur luck and zoom off)

:thumb:

i find it nice to ride in malaysia under rain, (u can feel the rain drops hits u horizontally) and alot better than riding under hot sun..

bike also cool that no need to worry for overheat... (just cover spark plug coil)

i'd love to ride under rain providing less traffic, adequate bike and tyres.

have a nice trip guys, for i am home bounded as passport going to expire..

*plus zouk out on saturday night... heheheh

Some updates on the floodings in Ulu Tiram and other parts of Kotta Tinggi.

There has been reported floods along the areas of Kotta Tinggi around knee deep but they have subsided. However the roads are muddy hence we have to ride with caution.

Lead bike: Josephsbs.

Markers: osfar and others will be assigned as we meet tomorrow.

Sweeper: bennyDcode.

Will re-assign accordingly based on the participation and we will have a safety briefing before setting off tomorrow.

Tow contacts:

1. Eng Bee = +65 62722208 (hotline)

2. Richard Tan = +65 81396333

These are the reliable contacts I have been recomended and they are all Singapore based tow services, who will arrang the bikes to be brought back to Singapore.

In the case of breakdowns we will have to wait till the tow truck arrives so we may cut short the trip if any bikes break down. The motto still stands without compromise:

"We go as a group and we come back as a group."

In the case of other emergencies contact will be 60 999.

Ok guys thats all I have and c u guys tomorrow morning.

Just don't get too bothered by the rains as we will always put safety before anything else. We may just turn back if the rain or road conditions are too bad. :thumb:
