Why don't you go all the way and go for the 650? Even more "sutt" with the "tiptronic" transmission. Got normal, sports and manual transmission man!

Under the seat alone can put 2 full face helmets liao! With a box can one shot go shopping for groceries for a month!

Dual discs for the front wheel, fuel injection, adjustable backrests...

I also want...

Really? I can't really tell from the pics.

I know there are differences, but they look pretty much the same to me.

Have you actually seen both in the flesh before?

BTW, I ALMOST bought the same silver X9 you're riding. Took out my wallet already, then decided to go another motodiam to have a last look, and fell in love with another scooter and bought it.

However, I can't help thinking the X9 is much more comfy than my scooter. How's your experience with it so far?

Becos my scooter's seat is not as deep as yours, after a long ride, my lower back aches a bit. Do you face the same problem with yours?

Maybe we can meet up one day of you're willing. I wanna take an in-depth look at your scooter.

Only if you want to. No problems otherwise...

Due to its fatness, I need to tip toe whenever I stop. Therefore on sideways slopping ground, only one side can reach the ground.

1st incident: my pillon move his body to the lower ground side....can't touch ground.....dropped.

2nd incident: parked at a sloping car park, trying to turn downslope, also cannot reach the ground, then dropped...

Damn xin tia... :pity:

Oh... This new Burgman is cool. Really nice design. Much better than the old 400 Burger or the new 650 one. Is this MK2 or MK3 ? Heard that the new Burger will come with ABS and servo brakes. Correct me if I'm wrong. Hehe

Hm, as for the Big Burger 650, read from Twist And Go magazine, it seems like this big burger got some cool features, but its handling is much harder becoz of its new electronic gear control. The mag states that engine braking steps in much faster, and the brakes arent that cool on this big burger. Hehe..

It's the K3 version, with new fuel injection engine and linked brakes. I think got no ABS. ;) http://www.ibike.com.hk/01_bike_report/loc...n400_250_01.htm?

Mah motor is selling this scooty at $10500 on the road wor... feels like buying .... but no $. :pity:

$10.5K? I got my AN400 from Mah Motor at $9700 last Dec 2002. Very happy with it. Its the Business model with the Mercs like butt :p Wonderful boot space. Put both my full face in there when parked. Gf love the roomy pillon seat. Good accel too and handles well on the expressway and on normal roads. Only problem it that its too long and have trouble at some cramped parking lots.

Pros:

Comfy, you can stretch your legs out front, like a cruiser style but more comfy as got better seating.

The design shields you from the windblast quite well, so you can actually speed up without feeling like getting blown off

Tons of luggage space, no need to buy a box. The boot under the seat holds my Nolan N100 flip-up AND my HJC flipup, street directory, bike lock, windbreaker, bike cover, tool kit (came with the bike) and my mini toiletries bag (comb, gel, dedourant) :p

Low center of gravity, corners well. Can go down to about 45 degrees (that's only how far I tried, I read reviews some pple even further down, but will scratch the main stand)

Cons:

Very long. Longer than standard HDB motorbike lot. Parking in cramp parking lots is not advisable as later cannot get out without moving other pple's bike..if you can move them at all..

Heavy, 173kgs, but you get used to it and its stable at high speed.

Noisy, the wind and the machine.

A more complete long term review can be found in the Twist N Go mag from UK.

I did not follow Burger models closely, but i read somewhere burger400 got back wheel or swing arm breakage problems after 10,000km. Is that problem rectify in newer models? BTW which model is the one got that back wheel problem? In case I end up buying a used maxi-scoot wor.

Haven't tried the max speed yet as I'm still doing my run-in. Taking my time with it actually. Only hit 2000K plus this week.

Fuel consumption-wise, I top it up about once a week when the fuel guage hits the red mark (about slightly less than 1/3 left) About 8litres each time. The fuel tank holds about 12.5litres actually.

As for DIY on the belt, read from various forums in UK and magazines that its a tough job as need to remove a lot of stuff and need certain tools. I'll bring it the the shop as i'm not pro nor have I even strip my bike before :p

Hi, I do not have much to add on those reviews published on the websites as I will only be able to collect it on this weekend. However, I will post any new findings as time goes by.

Cheers!!!
