Parallel Import car & Local import?

Hmmm~ guys i would like to know what's the different between parallel import car and local import car... I understand the price is a whole lot different... other than the pricing... what's the other differences? and also when i come to servicing... would it be much more hassle? like have to go through the agent this n dat?

the difference is not oni in price ... but service and warranty ... although u dun get an agent warranty but u get up to 5 year/ 100'000 km

(which ever comes first) warranty where else agents they r oni able to gif 3years/ 60'000km).

 

And prices could b far loads of difference ... for example BM might b selling a particular model at 95k but PI is selling at 90k more over the cars dat PI carries r all imported from japan but BM comes from thailand ... so y would u bother to spend thousands of dollars buying thailand made cars ?

 

but u aso haf to b aware of the PIs dat u r going to ... as there r a lot of black sheeps ard ... if u wan to know more abt it u may wan to pm me:thumb:

If the car price is below 70k and does not have a price different of 8k between a agent and PI, is always better to go for agent for peace of mind.

 

i would agree to that.

 

However, without PIs, we will all be driving boring cars dish out by the local distributors. Somehow, PIs seem to have better market intelligence than the local distributor. STi, Evo, RX8, 350z were all first landed here through PIs. Another attractive model currently only brought in by PIs is the Honda Crossroad.

Frankly, as for Honda Crossroad, PIs have only the weakest specs and their mark up is quite high.

 

I am totally ignorant in the specs of the Honda Crossroad brought in by the PIs but I find it good looking car, and it resembles a H3. The fact is Kah Motors doesn't stock them. Kah learned from PIs on City, and lately on Stream while Borneo is still stubbornly refused to stock Wish.

PI say worksmanship free, but charge on part.

 

while Agent is change part for free, but charge on worksmanship. u go agent, u queue up, ended up still paying the same wat.

PI dun haf own workshop, they gif contractor workshop do it, some which are bigger than BM.

 

agent's stream n PI's stream onli difference around 4k-6k, still many go buy pi's stream.

 

if u think PI's price are all marked up , same goes to agent my dear fren.

 

n FYI, agent's margin are MUCH MUCH MUCH MUCH MORE than PI. if not how they build their office/showroom so big?

 

for agent, their car, even for small QQ or picanto, their PROFIT margin is at least 8k-10k..

 

n 1 more thing.. many agent's manager who sit high up there, gt eat d.ir.ty.mo.n.ey one..
