maybe the reason that they can afford to sell cheaper is because they buy in big bulks straight from supplier? i would buy those renown brand i.e. shell motul.. but not their local product if any.. :)

i just got my first bike a couple of months ago, and i'm a newbie to this bike business.. how often do you guys need to top up your engine oil? i didn't check my engine oil dip stick for the last 2000km and its gone dry (i check the dip stick got no oil at all - the oil didn't even reach the minimum mark). i think i must have caused alot of damage to my bike engine already. what damage does riding without engine oil cause to my bike?

The cheapest engine oil so far i know of:

1.Castrol Trizone 20w50: $5.00 (LAB) $5.50 (Regina)

2.Total Racing Fully Syn 15w50: $6.00 (Carrefour)

Total is one of the top 6 oil companies in the world, so their products along with Castrol can trust.

imo Total albeit 15w50 feels smoother and thicker than Castrol 20w50.

Rainy days try not to order pizza/kfc/macdonalds.

 $5 for the castrol is still the best.

i spoke with a friend recently who works in the oils industry. He did not intend to spoil any dealer's business, but he hinted to me, said that a brand's lubricant can be the same label, but from a few different countries. Each country will have the oils catered to the individual market. u take Castrol made in thailand, and Castrol made in malaysia, just shake the bottle, same ratings sounds different. In your hot engine effect of course different also.

think about the situation in a busy town of Thailand, how often can the kups there exceed 70kmh? Whereas in Malaysia, its not uncommon to have kups racing at 120kmh. Maybe too generalised, but i think u got the same idea as i caught. dun talk about modders who go for racing fully syn, those are in their own league. Just the normal person who needs to get around.

rule of thumb, think twice when u see cheap products with thai labels. Very popular nowadays.

cheers.
