performance: alright.

fuel: about 13 km/litre in town, 19 km/litre highway cruising.

why don't you give the showroom a call and see whether you can fix up a test-ride, then you can find out more on the specifics.

13km/l city riding? That's real low man. I get lowest 19 but average 20-21 regardless of city or highway. Guess cos of my riding style. heee

i guess riding style does make a diff.

FC will drop if you install all sorts of SE performance parts. More hp at the expense of FC.

seeing as how the bike's only been out for less than 2 months, and there are only 5 on the road at last count, it's a little hard to get a good idea. What you should do is to go down and get a test-ride on a sportster 1200, which is the class the nightster is in, and see whether you like that. if you're that serious about the bike, the showroom should be more than happy to let you have a ride, but you'll need to call for a prior appointment.

hmmm . . . . if you are concern about performance & FC, then I think you should give HDs a miss. It really the looks + roar + riding style that it sells by, rarely performance.

actually its not really the 'performance' i'm looking for. just checking out hows the ride, feedback, before i buy it. U know what i mean?

yeah, understand. I would do the same too if i were you.

But . . . . what I was trying to say is . . . . say if you are looking to buy an R1 2008 model with very few on the road, not many people will ask about FC & handling etc as you are buying something fairly well known and knows exactly what you are getting. Most people will just read reviews on the net if its totally new, but as with all reviews, most are predictable

Make sense?

hmm..maybe I should change back to stock. hahaha...what after market parts u using? You get quite good FC rite?

Me? Engine (2 plugs/cylinder), carbs & air filter is stock. Pipes are SE1

Riding style is usually 80~100kmh, 90% on expressways.

FC averaging about 24km/l

damn you!!! *shakes fist. :cheeky: I guess air filter makes a diff too. I'm python 3 pipes and SE filters. quite a bit of city riding though. 70% i would say or more.

Actually, I kind of understand olse77 questions for not drifting one's mind away but just Nightster.

Typical layman questions on general performance, FC, handling, comfort, some essential accessories to make the bike stands up more, some mods for itche backside and etc ... ... ... :D

olse77, I am no expert in Harley but I will try to answer your questions.

Sportster is best for daily application, eating some highway flies, lure some pussycats and suchs ... :D

IMO, Sportster rider will look very good for height anything below 1.72m. Sorry, I don't mean anything. :sorry:

Besides, Nightster sound quite a pusssy name, its got almost anything you about to ask by just focusing on Harley itself. :thumb:

Performance ok, FC is good, handling not bad, quite comfortable with progressive styling, easy accessories and mods. :)

No worries go get one. :p

Remember this if you purchasing one ... Don't buy Screaming Chicken pipes !!!

thks for the advice, haha, i'm cool 1.82m tall so don't think much of a problem. :)

Depreciation for Harleys are much lesser than its Japanese counterparts because of its great demand vs low supply.

A year old Fatboy will still sell for $30k+
