I almost always go JB to pump since i work very close to the causeway. I usually go in in the morning after my night shift to fill up both my tummy and my tank.

I'm working shift so i'm not sure if our working hours coincide so we could go in together, but here's my number anyway: 9489 0203

Today battery flat cannot start, new bike 1 year only ride 3k. Everything just dim off and digitial show only --.Wanted to bypass headlight but the mech say not adviseable.

Anyone encounter when engine started but immobiliser light blinking then gone. is it I rarely ride; battery caused all this. Still can ride. TY

u need to ride it once every few days to keep the battery healthy.. maybe change a new one if yours had deteriorated.

the only time i had my battery flat was when i went overseas and left the bike parked for 5 weeks. came back, did a push start and its back to normal again.

Or the less mechanical way, Jump start! Do check if your bike can keep the charge. It is always advisable if not riding for a long period of time to disconnect the battery leads. That way, the battery won't be drained.

Hey people.

My GSR suddenly dies now a day. My observation is if I try to suddenly reduce the rpm if would power off.

And recently .. I had a bad experience .. left the battery on with emergency indicators for like 5-10 mins and the battery drained. Failed to even start. Never thought 5-10 mins could do such a thing? Or is the battery need a replacement. Never faced issue otherwise.

Any thoughts?

I think your battery dying already. Replace before it is too late. It cannot keep the charge anymore. Check if the battery is OK with a battery tester. As a gauge, a good battery should be near the 12.4V region. Anything lower than 11.6V, cannot crank engine (With the ignition On).

The usefulness of the voltmeter on the bike tends to show this.

Yes its OK. There are some things connected to the battery that drains it...Like for example your immobilizer SAIS that is turned ON. Not to mention the clock on the bike, it has to run on something to keep time. Even little, it will slowly drain the battery. Alarm also drains battery (if you have one), worst if people keep disturbing the alarm again and again. Sound from the alarm needs power too.

So my advice is lock up the bike with disc locks and disconnect the battery leads. That is a confirm way of not draining the battery. Do note, the battery will still discharge itself over time.

Thanks IvikaRazI. I am just waiting for the bike to clock 50K .. so as I could go for a total servicing .. for it would be easy tot rank. But seems like I have to get this battery thing done asap... before it lands me up in trouble.

Monitored my mileage for my gsr400, now im using SHELL 95 (Previously was BHP 95)

Well, this is what i got, both petrol and bar blink @ 257.7 km. 257/14.5 = 17km/l

That is with only 60km solo ride, the rest of the km is with 55+- pillion.

Any comments?

Could be some factors? Im guessing maybe settings? Tyre pressure? Chain?

i think muhdhanief may be right, its not normal to consume so much petrol.. most of the times i accelerate pretty hard and mine's about 300km before hitting reserve.. which is about 20-21kmpl... =\

My bike hits gets about 18~19km/l.

Both petrol & bar blink around 270+km.

Maybe u changed your riding style?

I think my drop in FC is due to my change in riding style. It used to hit 300km before both petrol and bar blink when i rode the bike for the first few months cos i just upgraded from a 125cc 4-stroker. I went easy on the throttle initially cos i was still getting used to the increase in power.

Nowadays, i accelerate hard.

Alternatively maybe should check and service all things serviceable:

-Spark plug

-Air filter

-Chain

-Tire pressure

-Etc
