Mirrors have been my biggest problem on the GSR. I have so far used 2 after market fancy mirrors that serve no practical purpose and vibrate more than any other mirror. I have also tried using CB400 mirror after reading that some people had improvement on the vibration issue, but this looks ugly and in my experience still vibrated. I am now contemplating purchasing stock mirrors, because that's the only one I haven't tried (earlier owner had changed). Looking for your experience and suggestions on the matter.

Also I was told by Unique motors that stock mirror set would cost around $100 bucks, any of you know where I can buy it and is it really that expensive.

Same... for me i'm looking for extended mirrors, not so much prob on vibration, just can't really see behind me..

Stock mirrors are available at KS Motor (Oppsite Regina) its 45/side. So for 2 pieces $90. It's Suzuki Official stock.

Cool, i'd be down for the meeting at anchorvale

I'm trying to find out the main diffrence between the two as both use the same chasis. i know this might have been discussed before but i cant find the discussion in 785 pages.

the main thing i what to know is the fuel consumption between the two.

GSR400- 19-22km/L

GSR600- ??

Hey bros, I heard from my mechanic that Suzuki bikes right, the fuel cap needs sticker to prevent rainwater from seeping in. Is that true?

I didn't notice anything about rainwater seeping in, even during heavy downpours up north.

Actually, for me even at high speeds not uch problems with vibrations ist only the scope of view.

Hi guys,

I just recently purchase a GSR.

Can i check if the bike is meant for cornering?

I was giving this a serious thought as it is tall and big.

There was a couple of times my bike's back wheel slide while cornering. (not sure if it is the tire issue. "tour tire") - wheel did not lock.

Any feedback on the cornering aspect based on your experience?

Secondly, i was thinking of getting a main frame slider and "the metal corner of your handle bar thing"

Any recommandation of which brand to get? i.e. rezoma, motivation etc

From the beauty and safety point of view.

You advice?

Thanks.

Congratulations on your purchase!

1. If you are going for track and planning to do super low cornering, my guess is that you should change to a set of soft compound tires. This bike is pretty heavy but stable enough to do loads.

2. Should the frame sliders comes with the bike? Is it a 2nd hand bike? 1st, bargain with the shop for Frame Sliders. If not, my guess Motivation is alright. Motoworld do carry other brands too. Shops like Equipment Extreme make their own.

"the metal corner of your handle bar thing", I guess this means the bar ends or balancers right? People usually changes out the stock bar ends for the heavier Motivation ones that comes with sliders which are able to switch out in the event of a drop or slide, so there is no need to get a new set of bar ends.

What is a good price for them?

So far i have been to MW, unique, ah boy and ah chong.

The best offer i have got is about $68+- for motivation slider.

about $60 for the balancer.

Rozuma slider look small. wonder will it protect the bike.

And for suzuki engine, is there any s tec thing?

So far, i feel it is powerful in pick up but any rmp which it will go turbo mode?

Prices for frame sliders should be around there. You should get Front and Rear Axle sliders too. I bought my Motivation Bar ends for Renthal at $65 from Unique Motorsports so $60 is pretty alright.

There is no V tec as like Honda bikes, there won't be a sudden boost for this bike and jerk but the power will gradually build up as you throttle up. For a 400cc, its pretty powerful.

To cut cost, is there anything u can do or service in malaysia?

Think i need to change my stepper for my rear brake soon. jammed. and also starter button is missing.

Anywhere i can repair at a good price?

I have been to one shop and they say front + back slider is useless, it is the main frame one which do the job.

Front + back is for decoration purpose?

Try Unique or Loois. If not, you could try to DIY by getting parts yourself from KS Motors or Guan Hoe and fix them yourself.

Decorative purposes? I think not! It does help in the event of an accident.

Been using the bike for nearly a month now.Feels great and the issue of side mirrors is common.

My key slot seem to have problem.Difficult for me to handle lock the bike, once handle lock,it takes time to unlock the handle.

Any solution or how much to change the key system?

Thinking of changing something on this coming payday:)

Whether to invest on an ohlin suspension or invest on a Yoshi pipe or fix a side H&B box which is quoted at sgd 980 by Mtech.

Any advise my fellow ladies and gentlemen GSR Riders:)

1997-1999:Vespa

2006-2008 Nov:Gilera Runner 180 SP

2008:Chevrolet New Aveo 5 emerge.

2008 Nov:Daelim B-Bone.

2010 Sept:Toyota Vios

hi there everyone, just recently got myself a fbb gsr400. vibration seems to be a bit handful but otherwise she rides like a dream. just for ur info, i got it fr a private seller, for 8.9k without insurance.. its basically stock, mileage abt 54k.

i read here that someone had jerking problem with iridium plugs, is that an one off thing or is it better to stick to standard plugs?

Heh, drop by Motoworld and say, "Uhhh, my payday's coming, what can I buy with it?".

Else, did you change the stock brake lines to steel braided brake lines? It'll depends on what are your needs. GPS, carrying case, smoother ride, power, etc, etc

Congratulations on your purcahse!

You could try dampening your vibrations to lower rpms by changing to a heavier bar ends like Motivation bar ends or even your handlebars to Aluminium as provided by Rizoma, Renthal, Protaper, TAG and others but these don't come cheap, especially if you were to go for the Fatbars as you need to replace your stock clamps.

More likely than not, the jerking problem is caused by the EFI as suffered by most EFI bikes on the market. The westerners called it the "Herky Jerky" problem and would requires just a slight adjustment to the TPS to alleviate the problem. Iridium plugs do last long but are not worth the price or performance. Besides, stock plugs for the GSR 400, NGKCR8EK does the job pretty well for bout $8 bucks per pop.
