hi all, long time never post...

wanna share my experience. i got my gsr400 from bike prod about 4 months ago.

got it for 13.5k (a bit on the high side, since that month i was so 'lucky' COE went up).

The shop didn't have the bike in stock so need to wait about 3 weeks, then usually they'll base their price on $850 COE. any up or down in COE will change the final price.

Can't really expect great service, can't bargain and no bonus other than standard helmet (maybe it's just my lousy bargaining skill thou). my case so far so good, no smile service but no hidden cost as well. they explained everything before you sign.

the boss seldom 'see' ppl one, no chit chatting or anything, come pay and go... didn't really care if i pay my installments beginning or end of the month. they don't provide any free servicing either. but the good thing is they didn't even try to cheat me at all, eventhough i guessed they knew that i'm a bit blur in this kind of thing.

hopefully can help if you're considering to get your bike from them.

FYI, i got it around 600 cheaper than other shop (5k down, 4% interest for 2yrs) but again, maybe it's just my lousy bargaining skill... hehehe...

I got mine at S$14000, that is wif 4 years installment. For ur case, should be slightly cheaper, coz ur insurance would be lesser. If u wanna get wif ABS, it would cost u S$1000 more.

as for accessories, you can try Motoworld. I got my Bagster tank bra and bag there. it costs me a total of S$310. They have many more items there, mainly ermax windshield and radiator cover. They have carbon fibre parts also, like the exhaust heat shield and many many more. Try to find Mr. Fauzi, he can give u good discounts. The other ppl there not as good and friendly as him.

It is a parallel import, gsr600 however is not.:thumb:

Positioning of motorcycle front licence

FEEDBACK NUMBER: 606308

Thank you for your email dated 02 Mar 2008.

We would like to inform you that under the Road Traffic (Motor Vehicles,

Registration and Licensing) Rules, vehicle licence plates must be fitted

such that they remain distinguishable at all times. They must also comply

with our technical requirements and specifications, such as colour scheme

of the licence plate (i.e. background and registration number), height,

width, and stroke width of characters, spacing between characters, etc.

Motorists can visit the following website to view more information on

vehicle licence plate requirements:

http://www.onemotoring.com.sg/publish/onemotoring/en/lta_information_guidelines/buy_a_new_vehicle/vehicle_licence_plate.html

The Suzuki GSR600 motorcycle was approved with the conventional front

licence plate (i.e. those made of aluminium or acrylic material) affixed

above the wheel fender of the motorcycle. Generally, we do not allow owners

to affix licence plates that are of the sticker-type. Based on the picture

that you have provided, it appears that the front licence plate fitted onto

your motorcycle does not comply with the said requirement. We would however

consider, on a case-by-case basis, the use of such sticker-type licence

plates on vehicles that do not have an adequate space/location for affixing

conventional licence plates. Hence, you may wish to produce the motorcycle

affixed with the said licence plate to the Vehicle Engineering Division of

the LTA at 10 Sin Ming Drive, Singapore 575701, for our evaluation.

Once again, we thank you for writing in.

Yours sincerely

you know, ignorance is bliss.

but i believe it depends on how you explain to the ROV or TP who pulls you over.

i mean, the plate under the headlight is not good because:

1) blocks airflow into the airbox

2) certain humps will cause the plate to bang into the fender

as long as the letter dimension requirements are met, there should be more

chance of getting away with it.

if the fella is super-ngiao, then too bad i guess.

there's a sticker on the front fender showing it's ABS.

also, ABS usually comes with the brake hoses in more segments.

mods done:

powerplant device, fuel injector venturis,

underseat cylindrical air filter, bassy stock cans,

super-sensitive in-built gyroscope, inertia-based accelerometer,

streamlined panniers (zero drag),

taped up wires, exposed grounding wires,

TBC mounted, custom tire pressures.

litre bikes watch out! :gun:

Yo bro, I was planning to change my pole light target date next month....Am wondering if anyone of you installed M400's 1 Watt Ssuper Duper Bright T10 Bulbs.

Would like to know how stable is it? From our manual, it state 12V 5W bulb. Anything wrong using this 12V 1W LED bulb? Please don't flame me as I am not from the engineering line so not farmilar with Electrical measurements. I am here to learn so I guess will be learning something every time.

How about the signal lights? Any problem changing to LED lights? Using the same T10 bulb?

I don't think so, but the amount the buyer pay will be the same, so it doesn't benefit the buyer if he/she wanted to do that... but I don't have much extra income, so never really ask about that.. hehehe

well.. maybe better check directly with the shop...

I'm using one of M400's other LEDs. The 4 LED bulb that cost $12 a pair. Been using them for almost half a year and still going strong. :thumb:

Anyway guys good news. I Email Adventure On Wheels, and got an ANSWER! They got a street legal pipe for GSR400. The brand is MIW. They quote me S$1400. Yahoo!! Their website is http://www.adventureonwheels-sg.com/home.aspx. They are located at Blk 541 #01-1044 Jurong West Avenue 1 Singapore 640541.

The only thing is that I am a bit skeptical because on MIW website, it state for 600cc. Anyone care to check it out in person? Coz I live in the east too far for me. Then maybe can get MO price . I need a liaison officer.

Hi,

yesterday i happened to speak to a mechanic who has done upgrade for GSR4.. his workshop at bkt merah(cant remember the name, but it has an Acrapovic logo displayed outside his bike tuning bay)..his suggestion on increasing power of gsr4:

- change exhaust system. currently there are 3 company in the market producing underseat exhaust for gsr4 but the cert is only valid for gsr6. it can be installed on gsr4 but will not pass lta inspection. (Cost:$1500+ depends on brand.)

- remove the cylindrical air filter which is located under the seat. the filter really reduce cold air intake and therefore block the power.. (labor cost only)

- install power plant device to improve hp at lower torque (Cost: $200+ complete with installation and tuning)

- grounding wire for engine break reduction (Cost: $100+ depends on brand)

So, if got $2k+ to spare, can go speak to this bubbly guy.. He is so enthusiastic in his job and even at the end of his lenghty lecture (which most of it i dun quite understand.. hehe) i did not commit, he is still so cheerful:thumb: :thumb: err.. this is what i call service :) :)

his shop is next to Albert Motor.. he said his experience is more on tuning R1 which is explained why the workshop have a few dismantled R1..

i oso met 1 gsr rider in kg java tunnel while heading home yesterday... both of us on black matt gsr, he nod at me, i nod at him, but i dared not see him too long coz his big arm got big tattoo.. i scared i kana hamtam for mistakenly staring at him.. his riding is so fast after exiting from the tunnel, at least 120..

if he is on of us here, let me say hi, next time i see u, i will give u a thumb up ok..:thumb: :thumb: (btw, any sign language on how gsr rider greet each other from far..:p if not we just thumbs up each other lah..)

why thumbs up is good... the other day, i was riding along cte, suddenly this guy on st11 appeared out of nowhere, so fast.. as i cannot filter to make way for him, he patiently waited for me to do so from a safe distance, and when in the end i managed to give way, he passed me so fast and swift.. and as he passed me, he gave me a thumbs up..:thumb: wow, i was really shocked! i dun remember getting this kind of nice gesture when i drive lei.. haha.. cheers..!:thumb: :thumb:

Hi bro actually GSR600 have more exhaust systems available. Anyway, some good news for GSR400. Spoke to Mr Fauzi at Motoworld on Firday. He said in the process of getting the street legal WR'S exhausts from Japan. In Japan, estimate S$ is around $1k to $1.2k for the pipes only. I will keep bugging them every month until they bring them in hahaha.

I'd rather do up mine with the Street Legal pipes, with after market air filters BMC or PiperX, and install PCIII. Then tune it. Should cost much less than $2K. So far have not seen full systems on GSR400 model. If have I guess would have cost a bomb with 3 parts (2 x exhaust, mid pipe and headers) hahahha.
