I second to you on that Motofreak!

 

Proper HIDs not only reduces amount of heat generated on the lamp assembly & less power consumption (very obvious if on a multimeter). but if velcro'ed on headlight protector is used, temperature/heat withing the lamp assembly will dissipate extremely slower as the extra heat builds up. This is due to the still air between the lamps and the acrylic PROTECTOR, as air by nature is a very bad conductor of heat.

 

As our protection film is rated till 100deg continuous usage, so far we have not encounter similar mentioned issues of RACEshield headlamp protection on HIDs, (cars & bikes)

 

May i find out from you what are the "after effects" of non-proper HID on RACEshield? I am curious, would definitely love to gather your valuable feedback.

Hmmm... Thus far no news on non-standard HID wif any product that's layerd directly onto the headlamp... Neway wat was meant in my previous statement was that Non standard bulbs would emit heat and dissipation of it is impeded with acrylic or other clear cover being used for protection. Anything being layered directly onto the headlamp means that heat is being dissipated via conduction. Whereas those acrylic protectors via convection having that layer of still air as per mentioned by you. Like every school kid would know, dissipation of heat via conduction is way better then convection. However having an additional layer of clear polymer does make it similar to the greenhouse. Harder to dissipate heat. I being a lone ranger with no labs or whatever scientific equipment CANNOT confirm that it is the case with products such as Raceshield as they have their own RND labs to test them. But the theory is there thou.

 

Wif HID.. i seriously see no issue as HID's are proven to emit lesser heat but brighter light.

 

Hey i have no issues with Raceshield in any way. In fact i feel it is a good investment for new bikes...

i got quoted 12.8K for machine price ( non-ABS ). and after trade-in of my FBA plate Yamaha Nuovo, may have to top up about 500bucks..all in...plan to confirm book this week. is this a kena-chopped price?...been goin to same low profile bike shop in yishun for ages..so quite comfy with the place la...so if u guys got other shops reli cheap by few hundreds, do tell me thnx...then maybe can buy one round at KKFC.. if not, i hope to join u guys real soon..
