You won't find a new px200 in SG anymore if I'm not wrong. The only new classic vespas on sale are px150's with pollution controling catalytic exhausts (not a big deal, you can put a normal one on after you buy)....

Rae07/ Machine K: So you guys are still studying in NTU or are you teaching there or working there?

Cephelix: Just read the other post from AJ, where exactly is near for you? I think I can try to find my way there on my own. if cannot find then will seek assistance again.

Anyway, not sure if I should go to bike shops on my own, quite sceptical about them. Stereotypical thinking is that they will try to con women riders more cos we tend to know less about technical stuff. Might wait for hubby to go with me, think his presence will help even though he might not know too much either. Thinking of seeking help from my bros-in-law but don't think that they are too encouraging about me riding a bike.

Hmmm cosa vs. cosa 2.... thats a good question... I have no idea.

I'd guess that the cosa 2 clutch is the one that I use, and came stock on all PX's made in Italy after '98

wildswans > i stay eastside...ard bedos reservoir area...so bedok, kembangan, eunos, ubi, paya lebar all near...anyways i just love riding my scoot..

Cephelix: I have a fren staying at Jalan Damai. used to be from the east too. Stayed in Marine Drive for the longest time until I got married then moved to AMK which is in the Central. Still prefer the air and atmosphere of the east. But the flats near my mom's too ex, cannot afford.

Hmmm.... take pictures of both... then I may be able to tell you that the cosa 1 is the same as the px... the cosa 2 should look different externally and have 4 clutch plates (as apposed to the 3 in the standard px clutch)

So for vespas, you can have the option of having 1 seat for 2 butts or 2 separate seats, one for eah person? So what happens when you need 1.5 seat for a bigger butt? Find a pillion who will only require 0.5 of the seat?

Anyway, is there a load limit for vespa?

My wife and I weigh in close to 180 kilos.... With a few modifications this is perfectly ok.... I can show you what I mean.... it doens't cost much to do, and really improves the handling of the scooter.

Hmmm that is a good question... No... but you can from the VIN number that is on the scooter frame near the rear bumper...

All PXDiscs (as far as I know) are Italian made (or at the least have some parts made there!)...

May really take you up on the offer. Hope your wife won't mind me imposing on you. Perhaps on one of your non-date nights.

There are quite a number of kopitiams and prata shops around here. Maybe next time can hold one of the meetings in this area.

wildswan > like what sharpey always says....scoots are very addictive......and if you do get a px, then you could get the Haynes manual..really helpful...

Is that the full name of the book.

Would anyone have any idea if I can borrow the book off any of the library?

Have always have this thing for rugged vehicles. When I was studying and trying to pass my driving, my dream vehicle was a jeep.

For bikes, it has always been vespas. Dunno why.

Currently, another vehicle that I'm interested in is the volkswagen one that looks like a mini bus. Dunno the exact model thou.

and the VW van??the hippie looking one issit?

i only passed my TP on the 7th of Dec 06 and got my bike on the 27th of Dec 06.

VW camper van... yep... Many people who are into vespas are also into minis and vw's....

No worries, my wife and I aren't busy every night....

The haynes manual can be bought from Amazon.com.... but I'd read the websites that speak about vespa first.. the manual is more about how to fix and stuff... not very introductory....

Cephelix... pics would be good...
