peeps! hey, i finally got ma vespa with me, since yesterday :D was riding very little bit and nearly drop it when i was trying to get it up on main-stand to pump petrol..so marloo..

anyway, i notice that my i can't turn my fuel adjuster at all. it's stuck at the reserve 'left' . no wonder the shop owner asked me to just keep it at 'reserved' when i questioned him if i need to 'off' when i park.

my question:

is it diffficult to fix this?

what is the reason for it to be stuck?

i will prob got back on Monday to Q him again but just want to know what i'm dealing with.

oh, another Q : i can't detect the chassis' no. of my bike.. will i be in trouble when i send my bike for inspection?

thank you , anyone who's replying to my Q :)

zen > A is supposed to be hollow.it's the air intake for vespas.every vespa has it. hmmm...B,gd qn, is it for the fuel gauge?

better get the fuel tap thing checked out.and no,it isn't difficult to repair.

whazzup > if can not planning to get a brand new seat.

-= Unsure of what to get=-

zen> the tap could be change. No harm running it when its on reserve. Downside u wont know when u are running on reserve fuel. For ur quention A) is to allow for cold air to enter for ur carb air intake.

B) Its the hole for the fuel float. Device to determine the amt of fuel in the tank.

the pic u posted is the one with a seperate 2t reservoir..

Hi Guys,

My question is can old px be fitted with 2T tank/container like the new PX so that I need not mix the 2T with petrol. And if can what is the cost? Thanks

usually her pinasco is more common.

pinasco no need running in but can't be rebored

malossi needs running in but can be rebored.

bike > i think can,but not sure...needs a few other things is guess.

thanks maz ...

yah, if on reserve i'll prob be as blur as a new rider and forget to pump petrol etc ;p

haiz, realised my back signal lights and IU are not working...definitely have to bring me scoot back to shop

etwy, nope i'm not the one. i got me bike from bike shop...too desperate to wait for one to come along on forum ;p

the one labelled B is your main stack

and A is your slow running jet

they're used for fuel+air mixture to be burnt when running and idling.

whazzup, if your scoot is a px 150/200,i got the haynes manual that you can borrow.

piston has piston rings, and running in is meant for those piston rings to seal properly.

im not sure wats the function of A. Cos seldom touch the part. But B) is definetely the onli thing on the carb i constantly (and most of us)fiddle with. Thats the main jet stack. With the numbers u give u are oviously running on the 24/24 carb with standard jettings. thats to determine the amt of fuel that flows into the carb. the bigger the number the more fuel is consumed. theres a rage of how big or how small u can go depending on wat engine setup u are running.

for a rough guide if u are running a stock 150 with alloy block most would recommended 118 or 120 main jet. and u onli change the end tip. if ur engine is highly modified ( cut up crank, ported, alloy) min is 125 largest will be ard 130. For 200 cc engine i have no experience with it.

Malossi or pinasco? There is pros and cons of each. To maintain malossi is expensive and not many mechanics recommend it. and its not nicasil lined like pinasco. the lining is to prevent from seizure. Due to the nature that no shop here does nicasil lining the block could not be rebored unlike malossi. There was a discussion on this in earlier post. u might want to search. If u are willing to spent and want the performance mallosi it is. for low maintenance cost and better performance than stock then pinasco

.

bike 115> Hi bro ro. U can easily purchase a tank that has the 2t reservoir and replace it with the current one. Down side is whether ur engine support the system. cos the 2t doesnt flow via gravity. its being sucked in by a mechanism in the carb box. so u gotta check if ur carb box has the mechanism and the engine supports it.

manifold is for reed valve carb. Simillar to gilera carb. engine is design onli to take the conventional carb which is the rotary engine. so with the design of the reed valve u need to have the manifols so that the reed valve carb can be mounted properly. U go and find out abt mikuni and dellorto bphp model. if not wrong they are reed valves. As far as i know no one uses reed valve on their vespa in singapore. not that i know of.
