Cephelix... TA are getting a new machine that will be able (fingers crossed and touch wood) to change tyres without bending the rims....

 

The only other source I can think of for these rims is Vietnam... I reckon the Taiwanese were the first to manufacture them, then the Vietnamese (ScootRS then Sterling) copied them.... The Sterling ones are available in Stainless Steel... just not sure if that's a good metal to be making rims out of...

Q&A on pistons.

 

I would like to change my piston (PX150), is there such thing as a Pinasco piston that suit the original piston size?

or should I consider the DR177 kit?

Um... when you change the piston you change the cylinder also...

 

The best allround kit for the 150cc is the Pinasco.... No one that I know has tried the DR... but its known in the states for being a decent plug & play kit for less money than the pinasco...

You could also try just getting some new piston rings for your current piston and having the head skimmed to improve the squish (and thus get higher compression)... This is the cheap way to get a bit more oomph....

new 150's & 200's have a 4plate cosa clutch which is better than the old 3 plate clutches,,, noisier, but better....

Erm, yeah you can get a cosa clutch for the 150... straight swap... just be sure to get one with the right number of teeth... its either 21tooth or 23tooth... can't remember which is for the 150 and which for the 200.... Mechanics should know though... I paid around $100 for my secondhand cosa (someone had retrograded my px to the old style clutch when I bought it) and then just bought new plates for it...
