Anyway...for all you un-informed people..snicker..snicker...only bikes registered with Company name can be insured for 'Any Rider'..So if Mr Ah Joo loans you his scoot..it's perfectly legal and covered.

I've been reading both threads and really was refraining from joining in the fray...looks like good fun must admit.

My suggestion will be for the owner of this website to make the AJ scooters thread a private one, password protected, to protect the members of AJ scooters from 'intruders' who are not familiar with their culture or are not friends of theirs. No point pretending it is a public friendly thread and are so touch sensitive their members can blow up in an instant. The amount of Slander and personal hatred aimed at Sharpey by Tazzy was below the belt. I am sure an apology is in order here. And to Aziz...your motto should read "If you ride a scooter, you are one of us! Except if .. 1) we don't know you personally, 2) named Sharpey or James, 3) you have a different opinion, 3) you don't spend all your time telling each other how cool you are, 4) subject to change or add as and when i like it!! Maybe lay a few landmines around 'your' thread and start singing praises of Your Great Leader should any unfriendlies like Sharpey still insist to go in there.

And finally a word of advice for Sharpey...don't know what you did man...but you got to stop making fun of fairies man!!

Character assasination is so not cool!! :)

2 ups dude.

ok thanks guys... will call up AJ again to check on the exact quote... cos someone told me that "you wont even know if they use second hand parts... " i was like @_@...

cant wait to get my vespa but got some worries... it gives me no sense of security... maybe my current ride is much more bigger compare to vespa plus heard alot negative comments... like tyres are too small.. got to be super super cautious esp when raining... not stable etc...

the probia is inside me liao.. :(

I think its a unique ride on a vespa. Compare to other bikes that i've ridden b4

i can assure you that you will get most eyes on you when u ride THE vespa.

I presume there are negative comments because some bugger use vespa Rossi style that's why they complain tyres small. If you ride like an uncle, i dun think you will ever complain about riding a vespa

don't ride too fast (esp around bends) and you should be fine. been riding around on my ride (fitted with 8 inch wheels) for the past one year and have been conditioned to always go real slow round bends cos i have to admit, it really isn't all that stable

What's with the pig? Am a bit blur on that one....

yes ahqi... I will sometimes DIY on my scoots... but to be honest its a bit of a hassle to get rid of the old engine oil in an environmentally responsible way, so I let the shop do that so its not on my conscious.

Cleaning the carb and de-coking the head I will do sometimes... but to be honest spending $40 a few times a year is worth it if time is a precious comodity for you (as it is for me now)... Spark plugs don't need to be changed often... use them until they break.... always carry a spare.

Its a good thing to get to know your scoot and how it works... on as deep a level as your interest/inclination will alow... eg I doubt Swans will ever be doing an engine rebuild, but she may aspire to understand how some of the bits actually work and how they can go wrong...

I learnt quite abit from a malay uncle who help to fix my bike the other time. He taught me how to test the problems if the bike die and how to retify the problem but you need the spare parts ar..

i would like to noe more about the engine part if there is the chance coz its always fun to have a new knowledge of something you like. And this can be apply to other bikes as well

:) That's why we have aspirations swans.... but yeah... I doubt I'll ever fully understand the engine either... despite the fact that they're some of the most basic machines around, my inclination to mechanics is similarly basic  My engineer fatherinlaw is a different case all together...

And he showed me the a tool called 'castle' saying its meant for the gears knots.

explain to me that most bike shops knock the gears knots out instead of turning it out and i was like ohhhh.
