lyao - casuarina road is at upper thomson road, in the same estate where lower pierce/upper pierce reservior is located at. casuarina curry, the place i believe the gang is headed to on sat is located smack in between lower pierce reservior and upper pierce reservior so just keep heading down upper thomson road, toward sembawang and keep a lookout for signs pointing toward the reserviors. it is about 4-5 bus stops or so from thomson plaza, on the same side as thomson plaza.

Congrats on your Vespa ownership. To 'do' up your vespa, I personally would ask you to go to either TA or Hendra's place. Why?

- better service

- friendly ppl

- no need wait so long

many more, tell you if you meet us on 21st.......

sighh as i have mentioned..i really do think it is all luck. i got my bike from ah joo about a year ago and got great service from him then. he got my bike tweaked to exactly how i wanted it to be and never once complained though i was really quite fussy and demanding and pestered him every other day to boot. i got my bike in 1.5 months flat (as opposed to a period of up to 9 months from other mechanics) and really was quite happy with my entire experience with aj and my bike.

after i got my bike, ah joo found out i was trying to hide my bike from my parents and suggested that i should park my bike at his place as his workshop is just mere minutes away from my place. well i took his kind offer and proceeded to park my bike at his place for the next 2 months or so till i got real paisei and brought it back to park at the playground near my hse. throughout the 2 months, ah joo never once pressured me to remove my bike from his workshop but what truly touched me was that he kickstarted my bike every few days just to keep its engine in good condition.

i dare say that despite ah joo's flaws, NO OTHER MECHANIC would have done that. not for me. not for anyone else.

and as for friendly people, despite the big hooha over at the aj thread, i dare say the ajays are some of the friendliest people i have met in my life.

be it ah joo or the aj scooters club, i think both are really quite misunderstood at times.

Fluff: Glad that you had good experience....

I don't think any of us are out to find faults with anyone..... no doubt there are alot of pple who also said they have received good service from him.... no doubt most pple in aj thread are nice friendly bunch....

I just dun understand why every couple of months there will always be warning messages... accusations.... and it seems to stem from the same pple

I dun come into SBF to part-take in any politics and i like to believe that most of the pple in here are good and wonderful bunch....

I dun discourage pple from going to Jin Cheng and I still believe that Ah Joo is a good mechanic but he is also a businessman who gives preferantial treatments to certain customers ( which i suppose is true for any businessman)..... At the end of the day, i only say that I am not one of those pple fated to do biz with him...

neither do i understand. guess we all never will.

as for preferential treatment to certain customers, all businessmen are guilty of that haha

cep>> to gauge ur fuel consumption... travel up n down a regular stretch of road (ur daily route or something) find a map, get a rough estimate of your distance covered, then when u pump the nx time, note how much you top up (provided the last time you top up full lah).

a rough estimate will do, won't differ a lot even if you have a perfectly working odo. or you can do several times to get an average..

that's if you really want to know the fuel consumption without fixing ur odo.

Dun think we should bother with trying to understand why...
