Nvr been inside seletar camp so not sure of the directions.....

mmm y not for the 1st meeting, we can meet just outside seletar camp the bus stop area. So sharpey can lead us to inside.... i dun wanna get lost in teh middle of nowhere in the dark.... hahaha

 

p.s. can always carry on to yishun dam (i had nvr been there b4 too) if we want after that yeah

machine k > haha wats ya fav colour? Since ur present color is beige, u wanna stick to it or a total revamp?? Something outrageous? *WINKS WINKS* try green & blue? Soothing to e eyes

 

oh since sharpey next wk out of town, lets put it on e following wk.

i'd suggest either

A)1 Sep (Fri)

B)2 Sep (Sat)

Both evening timings yeah.

 

So shall we vote? See who prefers what?

Anyway was pillion-ing for a short distance today but its upslope all e way. My scoot died on me 1/2-way up at gear 3 (though it was at gear 4 but i quickly switched down after e power suddenly lessened).

 

! I wonder was is because i switched gears too early (but the revs oredi very loud already...) or was the 2 of us a tad ehavy for the scoot?

 

Anyway quickly found a spot to park it to try re-starting the engine but it just wun start. I was like "UH HUH!!!"

 

Decide to let it cool off so i went to grab lunch. Return in 1/2-hr time n start it up without a glitch. Phewz. And nope, not gonna pillion up steep slopes again.

 

 

so just to enquire you kind souls out there, is this due to e limitations of the scoot (PX150 isn't that powerful n both my fren n me weigh heavier than e scoot itself after all....) or was it my riding style? Should let it rev up n attempt the slope in gear 1 or 2?

i juz wan something simple n look classic enuff colours... dun wan too fanciful, wait catch tp attention.

 

how steep was the slope? i tink its not much of a problem for my scoot (with pillion), i stopped at rather steep slopes before, n moved off at gear 2... den again if gear 3 is not enuff to push itself up for wateva reasons... juz down it to 2 lo...den rev, try to pick up spd to change up gear

 

u how heavy only...unless say ur pillion weighs over 100 lah... shld b no prob usually (for normal slopes)

 

wah..put until sept...oso duno wat i will b busy with by then..tentatively OK =)

wah, ur painting...i speechless...v creative, muz haf taken u a long time to complete tat.

 

yeah, i'm one of the classics parked at south spine s3..the cream one with red lining.

i juz wanna find more vespa riders in sch..haha at least something in common =)

oh...so that's ur bike! seen it once. F+ plate right? anyway..the bike took me ard 2+ to 3 mths. this includes preping, changing of handlebar, procrastinating, salvaging foul-ups nad of course painting... and staying in HDB dun make my job any easier...hahah..

 

btw...i'll be meeting planescape somewhere next week to look at the seat he's selling.. if wanna..we can arrange a mini meet-up. i'll try get my NTU fren down if possible. (cream color 'A+' plate PX)

How about a harley pub called The Handle Bar? It's located off Alexandra Road, diagonally opposite the PSA buliding.

with regards to the hard gear shifting as mentioned inprevious post, i have encountered it before. shift up and down shift is always a chore. there could be two possibility and unfortunately both happened to me!

 

1) Gear selector located at the engine there wear out. possibility is the spring located in the component. best is to change that.

 

2) gear shifting shaft may be warped of distorted. not circular. it might cause a problem too. i got a stress failure crack at the shaft due to old age. so it kindda got out of shape and got stuck at second gear all the way.

 

so far that is all i can say. if clutch plate wear out, from my own experience, when fully clutched rev up and the bike will move. if the clutch cable has been pulled to the max then time to change it. if not juz pull it loh.

yeah, which one is ur ride? nx time when u see me can try to horn me, but i prefer u to come up n tap my shoulder... cos horn hor, i tot i obstructing ppl or what.. =)

 

we should haf a mini ntu vespa meetup, before we meet up with the 'outside world'...
