you can try an NGK B6HS or NGK B7HS.... 6 is a hotter plug suited for town riding... 7, or 8 better for highway use...

But those have short thread reach right? You're using B8ES? Why do some Vespa models require short thread while some long? I tried B8HS before and my Vespa sputters. Or maybe it could be piston problems?

Posted

HS is shortthread, ES is long thread....

They differ due to the differnt cylinder heads used.... Some have short thread, some have long..... don't ask me why... I've got no idea!

A 6 plug is pretty hot.... did you check the plug-gap... it should be 0.6-0.8 mm if I remember right... might be worth searching to find a definitive answer... A plug that isn't gapped right, wont perform properly... stock gap from the factory isn't necessarily the right gap for your scoot...

thanks dude. btw my vespa kinda wobble when i go speed ard 60km and abv. it doesnt rattles but sort of swaying. could it be the suspension or the tyres? tyres have been worn for 3 yrs. sheesh....

Posted

if 3 yrs, then the tyres definitely need to be changed thought the swaying may not be because of the tyres themselves...

a vespa kinda sways when you're going against the wind kos of the legshield...

Could also be due to a worn out rear shock mount... its just piece of rubber that gets old and needs changing every now and then... cheap.. Get it checked...

Well, I've been learning about tyres recently... Apparently our Battalax tyres aren't as great as they could be... they are 51 J rated

51 is the load they can carry... J is the speed rating... like 100kmh only!!!

Some of the german tyres are like 60 L... meaning that they can hold more weight and go faster....

Something worth researching more... and to be honest, I can't find any of these alphanumeric indicators on the Cheng Shin tyres that come with the tubeless rims!
