etwy, actually Jakarta is a heaven for cubs. The streets are filled with them, reminds me of Vietnam. Seems like the local ppl prefer them to "old fashioned" vespas. Ya there are vespas as well, mainly local made Pxes n before that the supers. have not seen a sprint or sprint V. Oh they have the chetaks also. Now I rem, ever request for the grouping when I was riding the x9, that how I got the SBF scooter thingy.......I think. Yup bajaj chetaks are cheaper as they are deemed less of a "true classic as compared to the Italian counterpart. To be frank most ppl prefer "made in Italy" rather than "made in India". But...... I sticking to my Chetak! ahaha...

cephelix, decided that I am going to put a Givi box(can hold two helmets) the next time I come back, really not use to carrying my helmet along...

try flushing your coolant, could be dirt build up, also, check your radiator if the air flow is enough. there might be something that is restricting your air flow. =D

The Vespa looks a bit goofy with a box... but then... most other bikes look alot more goofy with a box :) I'm happy with my box... it wont see me winning prettiest scoot in competitions... but heck does it allow me to cart craploads of stuff around :) My current record is 5 crates of beer.... mmmn beer :)

Morning ppl? which box are u using james? tot of using something above 40litres, something that can hold 2 FF helmets. Figured out that my missus would make me hold the spare if I bought a box that can only hold one anyway!

Well those of you with are interested to shop for Vespa stuff over here in Jakarta, the place is called Kebon Jeruk 3. Warn u though, that place is madness! Tried going there before, not keen to do it again.

I'm riding a Runner and if I'm not wrong, the GT has the same engine and stuff. Its on the left side of the scooter, that 2 black hose thing.

Ya.... I think we'll be waiting a while!

You might try talking to a local 2T dirtbike shop and see if they can modify a stock crank (better build quality than maz cranks anyway) to 60mm... basically what they do is mod the crank to accept an excentric pin thus increasing stroke from 57 to 60mm...

Does SIP offer this crank? If they do, I propose we start a mass order cause I'm keen to get the Rear Sebac and scorpion and the brake reservoir adaptor and many more.

This is gonna be a far fetch shot but I'll try anyway.

Coming back end of the month and working a shift of 8am-8pm, I have not much options to service my scoot but only at Roda dua(unless someone has another to recommend). It sucks that being back for a only week every three months or so I am facing the possibilitiy of leaving my scoot at the workplace most of the time without being able to enjoy it (because of the amt of f*** ups the scoot came with from the previous owners)

I'm looking for DIY expert/s that can do a lil more than changing the gear oil and sparkplug to service/repair my scoot. Yup, its a far shot but Im talking cruciform and front shocks for sure, maybe some worn gears and maybe other worn out stuff according to the "DIY expert" expert assesment and maybe some cosmetic stuff like changing the cowl rubbers, legshield trimmings and stuff.

Place of service able to compromise, well if u have a garage workshop i be more than willing to drop in.

The expert will have to provide the materials, I pay of course. Service charge?? I won't question how much u bought it(parts and spares) and I pay reasonably. Reasonably means I will pay as much as I would to a reputable shop such as TA not looking to discount but I won't be taken for an ignorant fool as well.

Highly/very likely/incredibly unlikely but any takers??

Gotta go for inspection, road tax expired and all that jazz.

Too much to do, so lil time.

Gremlin.... Perhaps Vigano would be keen to help... I don't count myself as worthy enough to assess whether or not your engine is in good working order... You need a trained eye to see damage to bearings and gears and crank... I've only seen a rebuild being done once!

I let Wee look at mine and had him tell me what was good/what was not...He prefers if you are with him when he appraises what needs changing...

If you want kaki to come down to TA with you and be there when he opens your engine am happy to do so....

Happy to meetup and have a look over your scoot and see if there's anything obviously wrong with it... Howabout on Sat when we have a meetup....

Yes SIP sell... but to be honest I don't think the standard mazz crank is of very good quality...

WORB5 do a crank (look for rotary extreme)... its a modified Mazz and should hold up better... Worb will also sell you the exhaust and the shock....

Appanetly the most durable Vespa crank is the stock Italian piaggio one... shame its only 57mm!!!!
