Also bear in mind that not many people would consider changing to a disk fork... so people might say its too expensive/not possible... Don't listen to them! If its possible to put a sprint fork in a px, so it is possible to put a pxdisk fork in a px (the frame is exactly the same!)

You might be wise to check what the price of something like this is in an online shop... then you can compare with local scootershop quotations... It should be considerably cheaper here... if it isn't, be suspicious.

I think you'll find that the stock shock will be fine (as long as you install the motor mounts and shock to frame mount....) Remember that these two mods allow the rear shock to work properly and not wobble about all over the place!

Mr Wee of TA has installed these before, so if you go to him, he'll know what to do.

Thanx guys, Alot of learning to do....

Now I have a chance to own a vespa of my own!

ahahaha....

hmmm..IU on the handlebar looks weird...trying to find someplace that it wont be obvious or someplace that would make it symmetrical....

i'll ask ard for prices..

any busses that go to TA?

how much was the total including shipping costs when you bought the shock n motor mounts sharpey?

did you change the side compartments to the rounded ones or did you leave then as it is?

gweester....

how's your scoot coming along?

is it possible to fabricate your own logo?

thinking of putting my name on the bike where the Vespa logo usually is..

just for the hell of it.....

-= Unsure of what to get=-

wah 4am still on the forum...

can make your own portable IU unit, display only when going past gantries. You can get to TA by walking from either Bugis MRT or Little India MRT (which is nearer), forgot what bus goes there...

And when you find the place to fabricate your own name, let me know. i also feel like doing one just for the kick of it

Posted

cephelix... I can't remember what the total cost was... not a huge ammount though... postage not more than 30US... each part also costs about that... why not email Greg Clauss... he knows.

My PX is almost totally stock... appearance wise...

I like it that way.

Sharpey>>>i will email greg clauss.....

as soon as i get my scoot....

wanna see if anything is wrong with it first before i add anything on...

Thinking of keeping the stock look too....

but modding is nipping at my heels....

Anyone>>>>should the front disc brake change/fork change/tubeless rims change be done together or can they be done separately or in any particular order?

Anyone also put a stainless steel rack on the rear of their scoot?

ahahahha...

Machine K>>>Yeap another way to personalise your scoot, by putting your own name...I think must go to a metalworks company or something....N yeah...4am still online kos i just got hm at 3 from lau pa sat....

hang out with my gf n her starbucks colleagues....How do you make your own portable IU unit? And hopefully I would be able to join you guys in Jan.....

like what you will do to light up your light bulb when you are young... just make sure its 12v batt.

but just like to say that, tampering with IU is frowned upon by LTA... in case someone monitoring this say that i'm encouraging such actions.

cephelix,

just went to TA today...didnt get the chance to test out my scoots as there are some re-wiring needed after some body construction....

will head down next weekend to test it....woot!

guess my scoots will take another month or so to be up....hopefully before my bday....

decided to add gabriel shocks on the front....woohoo!!

TA is just beside sim lim square....further down you will see a Shell petrol station....TA is just beside it....

The front disc brake change/fork change/tubeless rims change should be able to do it seperately....

just that when it is changed all at a time, it saves the person doing it more time in dismantling and assembly.....

What do you wanna ask about the stainless steel rack on the rear of their scoot?

Hi Classicos,

Due to the mechanism of the classico scoots, maybe we should compile a list of essentials that we can keep on our bike during our daily ride, just in case they give way...

To start off, here is my list

- spark plugs

- clutch cables

- gear cables

- spare headlight & taillight bulbs (front and back)

- spare tire + extra tube (if using tube tires)

- tool kit

please feel free to add on.....

Vespa Essential items- Things u may need in case of any foul ups

- spark plug

- clutch cable

- gear cables

- spare headlight & taillight bulbs (front and back)

---- i got a feeling they will break in storage box b4 it can even be used..thx to high vibration.

- spare tire + extra tube (if using tube tires)

---- if you have tube...u'll need pump. gas canister's a gd alternative. $2's cheapest i saw.

- tool kit

---- Size 13, 10, 8? spanners

---- Plug opener

---- Screw driver (philips and flat head)

---- small pilers (i recommend 2...tt's the no. of piliers i used when i did my clutch cables: one to pull wire and one to hold the nut.)

---- black tape for masking wires.

please feel free to add on/edit if wrong.....

Good addtion Rae07...

For the bulbs, if it is stored in a good box, they will not break (i used those airtight lunch box...can put spark plugs, parking coupons, bulbs warp, etc)....tried and tested....

I always need to carry spare bulb previously as my scoots is not on CDI but on contact...

if there is a open circuit, for example, the tail light blows, the scoots will get a backfire....and by stepping on the brakes, the whole bike will stall....so it is a ESSENTIAL to have...

I have since changed to 12V CDI...

So for those pple out there still using contact point, pls take note...
