The shootout many streetfighter-lovers have been waiting for....

PBTT's (Budget) 600cc Naked Bike Shootout with The Baron.

Yamaha Fazer6 S2 vs the new Hornet CB600 against the Triumph Street Triple 675 taking on the Suzuki GSR600.

Very surprising results. :)

Suzuki GSR600 beating the Hornet CB600? Wow this is really surprising.

But I guess for me the winner of this shootout is really not.:cheeky:

The GSR is a nice bike. And I wouldn't say it was plasticky or tacky at all, eh? :)

Actually, it is kind of plasticky.

But as the Baron mentioned at the start, it matters how much money is spent on the inside.

The Triumph is now doubt a good bike.

How can I ever forget seeing Ethan Hunt on it doing the 'Impossible' on the original Speed Triple?

But a good Jap bike can still do the job at a more value for money price.

I bought that DVD. It was a 2002 Speed Triple, 955cc, with stock everything. The sound was prerecorded, dragging the low gears at high revs. And most of the stunts had the bike attached to a towing bar behind a truck, hehehe

I really did think it was impossible, those stunts. The Behind-the-scenes DVD content were damn cool lah...

But Mat Mingay, the stunt guy who performed the stunts, really proved a good number of the stunts were possible by itself without any aids.

I downloaded a clip of him re-creating some of the stunts by himself on a track.

I think it was the first movie that had someone on a bike do to such extreme.

It was a refreshing move that I would guess only John Woo with a big budget could only think of.

Hi

for the look, fun riding and x factor:

1 street triple

2 hornet 600

3 Gsr600

4 Fz6

Street triple is an English bike, hornet 600 is made in Italy. so they are more

expensive than the 2 jap bikes. Fz6 is more for daily communting cum touring. But the under seat pipes are ugly and generate heat to the pillion. Gsr is like a street fighter but it cannot match the street triple for the x factor. so hornet may be a saver choice. But u have forgotton a real street fighter in this class- Kawasaki z750. It has more power and fierce look only matched by the street fighter but it's cheaper.

Unfortunately, the same month issue of BIKE magazine begs to differ in their road tests.

I'll put up the final summary page coz there too many pages to upload.

Hey I have this issue of BIKE too. Seems like the Fazer'e engine is too high reving. It's not a very good choice for city riding. You got to rev it like crazy to get the power you want, which IMHO, is foolish and it irritates other road users. A naked street bike should have more mid-range power at lower, more sensible rpms.

The Z750 caught my eye initially but it doesn't seem to perform very well in this review. It is more expensive (because it's 750cc), heavier (because it's 750cc), with lower top speed, less powerful than the Triumph.

Honda Hornet .. plain, boring inline 4 and OMG, look at that ugly head light. What happened to Italian design?? The old model looks nicer actually. And sorry to say .. the Suzuki looks like a cheap plastic toy to me. That is why I have put down a deposit for the Triumph last weekend.

No intention to offend anyone. Just a friendly chit-chat. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. One man's poison might be another man's meat. What's most important at the end of the day is that we enjoy what we ride. Don't bother too much about what others say. It's OUR ride. :thumb:
