Summoned for excessive smoke by NEA..

Received the letter today. Stated that I am summon for excessive smoke at Payar Lebah road around 8.45am (they stated they recorded down a video). Payar lebah rd is about a 3-5 mins ride from my house and traffic was heavy, so I have a feeling the excessed smoke was because of days of disused, not from speeding. My bike isn't as noisy or smokey compared to most sportsbike 2strokers, but it does get smokey when I cold start it in the morning.

 

Need advice to go try and appeal, thanks!

hey the last time i got in to an argument with the officer at woodlands check point was, i told him 2 stroke bike sure produce white smoke what(i studied automotive light vehicle ) to my amazment he said what to do ? the law says any visible smoke is to get fined!! i wonder if my ITE is wrong or the law is wrong. geuss in the end it will turn out to be that i hearded wrong from my teacher, hahha, just end up paying my second fine tat time(70 first then 100)

i agree with u bro..last time i rode rxz early morng they caught me at this location wich is like 1 min away from my carpark..it was a monday and i dint go out during the weekend...haiz..bad luck...

previously i used quality 2t, motul 800.. still got smoke also..

 

when the engine is cold, the bike surely will 'pop smoke' and tell NEA your location.. just see whether you heng enough anot to get snap.

got a fine for excessive smoke abt 3-4 yrs back.

at tat time i was ridin a phatom 150 in the morning 6+.

i was very amaze cos the phatom i just bought kana fine but not the nsr125 which i rode for 10 over months.

2 stroke sportbike are common known for smoke but it's a phatom tat cause me to kana

later part i kinda realise tat for 2 stroke bike u have to warm up the engine b4 settin off otherwise the smoke output will be more than when then engine is warm up

I believe how NEA catch is they employ old uncle sit (hidden) behind tree just after a traffic juction with a video cam mount on a tripod aiming the back of those passby vehicles. Saw many times at Bukit Panjang

bro, if i had used a "cheap malaysian 2T", then everyday will kena fine...but it was only that particular day that the smoke is excessive...

hey common la guys, trust me, even if you use $1000 2T oil, the 2 strok engine sure got white smoke regardles of hot engine or cold engine, the lube is buring togather with the fuel in 2 stroke engine. where in 4 stroke engine lube is not supposedly to be mixed, unless there is minor leaking.

 

i also last time use 2T esso gold,$13 2 years back. now i dun noe the price, after getting fine, even with regular servicing and expesive 2T. i change to Esso pace. what the point? my bike still went well with the second choice of 2T.

anyway just to chip in...this is also why i gave up my rxz...used the most expensive 2t, best maintenance,smallest 2t intake setting,decarbonize..still smokey and fined by nea at checkpoint...i appealed twice rejected..they only extended payment period..die2 must pay!

Think if got use 2T sure will have white smoke..But to fine someone just because the person (bike) was caught on tape (video) is pretty absurd..What you see isn't always what you get..If the person is stopped on the side of the road and some sort of measurin machine/device is used to determine that the white smoke is excessive or not..Well I think that would be proper..Otherwise it just isn't fair..

 

And in this world of very advanced technology..It is easy to edit/fabricate a picture/video to make somethin that was there disappear or somethin that was there isn't there at all and etc..

Sometimes when the weather is cold and the engine hasn't warmed up yet, of course there will be smoke. Too bad those NEA fella's won't hear of it. All want $$$

if they dont like smoke they should ban all 2strokes bike mah, cincau allow 2t bikes then fine us. knn make money so easy. we work so hard they take our money. then old bike also got alot of smoke sia, use expensive 2t lower down 2t intake got service every day still lot of smoke wat. they dono how to think isit.
