i suspect the batu pahat durian trip the hornet people is going on sunday is below at a place called Kg Minyak. Anyone joining them? :smile:

ok, that's it. Tomorrow 7th July 2007, 8.30am at GP esso. Destination:- 2 waterfalls & 1 durian farm at pontian. Everyone is welcome to join in. :smile:

I went alone lah. No planning 1, woke up at 4am that saturday and thought I could catch the sunrise in Penyabong then I'm set off liao. Wait for Tim to organise a trip there lah, I'm sure he is longing to visit Penyabong too. :p

1st stop durian hunting... the friendly malay guy who offered us his own durians... they taste damn nice lor, and its bloody FREE!!!

After finishing the food, we exchanged contacts and bid farewell to the Malay guy, promising to come again when they harvest the durians... hehe

 

We then went on to explore the 2nd waterfall in Pulai that Tim has been wanting to see...

 

This is the start of the trail... somehow got the macritchie reservoir feeling... and have to walk about 100m to get inside from the main road...

Before we left for dinner, Tim & Pkleong alerted us to a durian plantation nearby. We walked for a bit and saw ripe durians on the ground! Wahhh! free ah??! We peered behind our shoulders to check if anyone's around, before proceed to whack open the bloody durians. Singaporeans sure can't resist anything that's free! Hehehehe!!!

Finally, a word of advice for those who intends to go there.

- wear shoes with good grip, preferably boots because they're waterproof.

- there are no clear walking trail at the waterfall.

- a fair amount of wall scaling is required.

- the terrain can be quite treacherous at certain points. (it helps if you have

good balancing & psychomotor skills)

 

Be safe & have a fun trip!
