Having ridden the 1150, you should be more than capable than anyone on this thread to judge if you still wish to go for a used one. Obviously you ain't gonna find new ones so the 1150 beats the new 1200 on price alone.

 

However the 1200 does feel lighter, sporting add ons and upgrades over the 1150 that you can easily search for on the various online motorcycling editorials around.

 

The general consensus of the blokes on advrider.com is that the 1150 is evolutionary over the 1200, but certainly not REvolutionary.

 

As such, since you've had your fill on the 1150, I reckon you might as well hop onto the new 1200 and benefit from the R&D put in over the past few years.

 

As to purchasing a used GS1200 or one directly from my best friend at PML (Don't worry he wouldn't forget your sale ), that argument/decision is again for yours to make as it applies to all bikes in general does it not?

 

Good Luck hunting! I'm looking to get my hands on the F800GS once they hit our shores in 09. My FZ1 should be pretty damn well used by then ;-)

what are the differences between 1200 and 1150?

 

personally i still prefer the outlook of 1150, looks more rugged and fierce. the tank looks bigger too.

 

but the 1200 looks like the grown-up mature brother, more elegant, classy and smooth tank.

 

Well I will say 1150 is good before my accident.. now snice they have 1200 why not get the new GS then old GS...

 

As long as it is a GS it is a good bike to me..
