yeap, single cylinder, the bike comes in single cylinder mah, can choose one meh:cheeky:

its not about pro n cons about cylinder, its about the bike, u asked the wrong qns:angel:

DRZ is the best i tried, tats y last time i wondering y ppl from r1,r6,haya all downgrade to DRZ, now i know liao

Did abit of snooping around and this is what i found.....

The big benefit with the single is that the bike is lean and light. The S40 is about 380 pounds wet, lighter than any multi cylinder motorcycle of over 400cc. The light weight means less inertia, making the bike easier to handle, more nimble.

All things being equal, a single cylinder makes more torque than a multi of the same displacement. Torque is what accelerates you. The fat torque curve with the light weight means that the S40 is quickest off the line, beating any multi up to twice it's displacement across the intersection. Once they get into their power band they'll blow past the S40, but they have already been humiliated.

The quick acceleration and light weight make the S40 a killer city bike.

The downside of the single is that it does not rev as high as a multi of the same displacement, which equates to less peak horsepower. The S-40 is geared to a top speed of 100 mph at 6500 rpm in 5th gear -- but the HP actually limits it to about 85 mph. Fast enough for the freeways and interstates, not so fast that you'll be gathering a pile of speeding tickets.

While older singles tended to vibrate, Suzuki has done a marvelous job on the counter balancer and the S40 barely rumbles. What vibration there is is of a lower frequency, like a massage chair; compared with a multi that at high rpms is more like a dentist's drill. Cruising at 65-70 the S-40 will run forever.

And

The real purpose of a 'thumper' is -character-. It feels more like a motorcycle. People fall in love with them! You sit at a stoplight and the engine goes 'Plunk. . . . plunk . . . plunk . . ' and you wonder if it will make it to the next plunk. You feel the engine as you accelerate. You feel a "blubbita-blubbita-blubbita" as you ride down a city street. You feel a much faster vibration on the freeway.

The vibration is much more, but it's at a slower frequency so it isn't as objectionable, it's more like a massage. A 4-cylinder machine makes a buzzy vibration that puts your hands to sleep.

Plus the single has more bottom-end torque. A 600cc single is a real stump-puller. You don't have to rev it up to 8000 rpm to get the power out of it.

NOw i know what the single cylinder engine configuration can offer... godly pickup... i realise im also riding a single cylinder bike... no wonder its so much faster than the YBR which uses INLINE 4 configuration. Also thats why the damn thing vibrates so violently at high speeds....

Can't imagine what a DRZ will feel like... sure fly away.
