actually i oso follow most of the instruction stated on the paper provided..

wat i state below is wat the steps i took to install the indicator in my bike..

1) I find where is my main wire harness..

2) i locate the color of the wires needed based on the colour code on the instruction paper..

3) my harness consist of main and sub where main harness run along the main frame while the sub run around the head cowl..

4) i disconnect the connector that link the sub and main harness..

5) i strip the wires of the indicator.. make sure the length of the bare wire must be long enough to ensure the proper bedding of bare wire into the slots..

6) check the colour code that is need to insert the correct code wire of the indicator

7) connect back the connector and ensure that no bare wire of the indicator is exposed. try pull the wires slightly to ensure the wires is properly secured..

8) i strip the white wire (setting wire) of the indicator by a short length, juz enough to let the wire to touch ground point..

9) i start my bike and start the procedure of learning gear, i skip the shift setting..

10) i place the white wire to ground and wait for 10 seconds for F letter to display at the indicator then 10 sec more for the P letter to show..

11) i wait for the "1" to start blink and tap the ground point 6 times.. cos i hav 6 gears.. the display will show 6..

12) "1" will start to blink. i engage gear and rev up.. as if i riding the bike.. the display will show "2", then i change gear and rev up.. juz rev the bike like u normally ride on road.. (some bike may need higher rev of every gear to learn so dun maintain at certain rpm for every gear. once the indicator learn the particular gear, it will auto change to upper gear for learning)

13) shift light was done at netral while the engine is running. i rev up to the rpm i desire for the light to lit up and maintain that rpm for 3 sec. then i use the emergency on/off switch to cut the engine.

If u guys dun understand my english, can call mi.. my number is at previous post.. My singlish not powderful..

Cut the wires and it failed to install the gear indicator. Almost burnt my bike; my front fender watershed melted and fender slightly distorted. Revved until the front exhaust red hot. Don't know what'll happen to the engine. Need to bring Hong Long for checkup. Regretted.

Pls explained clearly tat it was bikewerks who fixed it up for u and ur bike could not sense it and not the gear indicator almost caused ur bike to be burnt...Ur statement is very misleading...

What Danesious said was right? It was Bikeworks which tried to install. What angered me after spending 3 hrs, distorting my fender and melted the carbon fibre like watershed was the Ah Beng's young assistant who told him my fender was already distorted. Ah Beng said the gear indicator might be defective or need an additional sensor for my bike. I don't know whether to believe it or not as it was not successfully being installed. That why I asked Danesious, don't take offence "it was benefit of the doubts" I really don't know. Today, I phoned Hodaka Motoworld's boss whether his mechanic can install for me and he wanted to charge $50 saying there are many wires and alot of testing to be done. That's really expensive. For ur info, my bike model, Yahama TDM900 yr2002.
