Those of u with agent Revos, r u affected by the following recall?

1) Recall for owners of CB400 for Rear Stop Switch Assembly

Recall for owners of CB400 . If your VIN number falls within the following numbers:

JH2NC429*8K010001 to JH2NC429*8K010070

JH2NC429*8M000001 to JH2NC429*8M000174

JH2NC429*9K100001 to JH2NC429*9K100053

Due to water penetrates into rear stop switch, leading to poor electricial contact and resulting in possibility of no stop lamp operation while braking by rear brake.

For the preventation or resolution of this problem, Honda will, at no cost to the owner, carry out the replacement of an improved type rear stop switch assembly.

2) Recall for fuel valve

Fuel Valve recall is for CB400S (Bol D'or)

VIN No: JH2NC399*6M200603 to JH2NC399*6M201227

Those who bought 2nd hand Revos and don't know if the previous owner has sent in your bike for rectification of above recalls, please call Boon Siew with your bike chassis number for verification.

Tel: 63399002

hello all,

a few newbie questions to ask here

1. how long should i run in a revo?

2. any shops recommended for servicing?

3. how often should i change oil filter and etc?

4. where is the Ah Pek shop you all are talking about?

Please help me, thanks! (:

I went to Boon Siew today and asked them about the double sweep issue. Spoke to customer service guy and asked him to check with mechanic to let me know what the 2nd sweep means. Customer service guy came back with answer from mechanic: Battery getting weak.

So I went to the bike shop where I bought the bike from and got them to change the battery. With new battery in place, mechanic tested the charging system with multi-meter. Multi-meter indicate 14.3v which means that the alternator/magnet coil is charging. This also indicates that the rectifier is also working properly.

However, even with the new battery, the needles still sweep a 2nd time on ignition! Shop mechanic says ride it for a few days to see if problem still persists.

Will update in a few days.

Keep going boon siew ask them change the coil and see. Haha Better still or the bike shop to temporary change the coil and see.

Omg, sparkerss1 is one of the good people here who gives good advice and has very good reasons for everything he does

Apart from the good technical advice given in this thread.. this statement is only the fact and truth i've taken notice.

Keep up the good work helping fellow riders SparkerS1 :)

Same here, I've been servicing my bike under Boon Siew (last 3 yrs because under warranty). This 2nd sweep happen after few months after received my brand new bike. Boon Siew also said that's battery weak & it's not under warranty. What they can do is to charge the battery for me but takes few hours. I don't like their way to handle your bike when it's still under warranty. They never check, never verify then tell you what's wrong with the bike. May be they afraid of replacing faulty parts for free to you after the check.

I've changed a new Yuasa battery 1 yr plus later (not at Boon Siew of course). Initially, this problem solved but not long. 2nd sweep happened to me till now almost 3yrs. But the bike still start-up fine without problem. First crank start in the morning without problem, but of course there is a 2nd sweep.

I've been monitoring the charging state of the battery recently by a added voltmeter. It's almost constant 14.2V measured at battery when rpm above 1400rpm. If you tuned rpm below 1400rpm, the voltage will drop. So, I think that's why you can't lowing the idling speed for revo because this can cause battery not charging due to low charging voltage on battery side.

So I can say that's not a big problem for me as long as the bike start without issue.

This is what i'm talking about. Most of the "seasoned" riders out there have the technical knowledge but unable to allocate time to pen down their experiences and share with others, probably due to work/family commitment or simply pre-occupied in making their ride stand out from the crowd/ or trying to be the fastest bike on the road.. ever

Not many takes the extra effort to do a guide like what is found in your SBF signature, which is years back before you became a mod here.

The biker community needs more people like you.

As i said, keep up the great work! :thumb::thumb:

Is the button stucked?

No harm bringing the bike down for a check, if not ur fav workshop should be able to fix the problem.

No doubt it's a few yrs old bike but electrical components faulty still will occur due to wear & tear or damaged.

Any bike shop should be able to solve but make sure you view the entire process and no one tampers with your motherboard.

Most secure way go Boon Siew just need to pay up. Unless u have service there since start
