sxv550 has reliability problems, especially with oil pressure, many owners in other countries have problems upkeeping this bike, do a search and you can see many are selling off their sxv550 after a few rides.

 

The SXV450 is touted to be much more reliable than the 550, which is not available in sg, to add on, parts support is a major issue in sg.

 

Get KTM if you want race ready and good parts support.

Still Checking with Hong Leong & other major bike shops if they are importing the WR250X,cause when its here then can really compared in its performance..Cause a totally new bike..

the newer KTM250 four strokes probably make as much power as the pre 2003 KTM400. In the circuits available for SM (eg, Nusajaya and maybe Tuas), i doubt the 250 will lose out to the 400 in the straights. In pasir gudang, yes, but then all SMs will lose out to the sportsbikes on the straights there.

 

the KTM250 is light and fun, spare parts support not an issue...be willing to pay about S$12K for a 2006, 07 one, and S$18K for the newer style ones. Euro $$ has really got up these few years.
