. Fuel injector change.....it's the electronic thingy fused with the Fuel injector that's bad.....but the electronic component comes as a whole assy with the Injector......

someone stated this is the part thats needed to change but it costs ard $200 plus - will go to the jalan besar shop to check it out.

Posted

yah ive been doing that for around 1 year plus.. someone i know is going to thailand and help me ask for the part there. if there is much cheaper will definitely get it from there.

hey silver surfer u know the full name or part number of the fuel injector?

issit fuel injector assembly?

i think i haf to go jalan besar plaza shp to find out.

Posted
yo flykite what is the part name exactly that needs to be changed?

i wanna try ask around at jalan besar plaza or fjt see they have or not.

if i am not wrong, just the cdi needs to be changed, or re-programmed.

but i concur with silversurfer2012, that by holding the throttle just before the maximum you can attain 110-120km/h too without activating the powercut.

yeah that is indeed true

the irritating part is when u accidentally turn the throttle to the max and then instead of bursting ahead the fuel gets choked.

just thinking to get the problem solved as a favor to my bike.

im cnfused... need to change the fuel injector assy or change the cdi?

i guess i will search the past posts to see which shop he went to to ask their opinion.

Problem SOLVED!!!!!

By Ah Lih @ Wing Yap AMK. Fuel injector change.....it's the electronic thingy fused with the Fuel injector that's bad.....but the electronic component comes as a whole assy with the Injector......

Ah Lih's is friendly towards me, and he really did tried lots of options. I mean, he has never done this before and my Wave i was the 1st for him to try. 2 weeks to finally solve and rectify..... Oh, did I mentioned that he ONLY ordered the Fuel Injector after getting my consent as it cost $300plus??? This is what I like, instead of installing it then charging me until I . To me I find Ah Lih very steady, and honest. Will deal with him in future, definately!!!

$400 inclusive of labour. Yup, it's a bit ex, but it's perfectly solved, and he test ride the bike before handing it back to you. And my bike was washed too...... I rather pay abit more to solve it there and then, rather to bring it all over Sg and in the end, cannot fix and spend more $$$.

Don't think he solved it, he merely just change the whole assembly thats bound to work. 2 weeks to solve it? I would only need 2 sec to come up with this solution. Solving this problem through this solution is like changing the whole bike's electrical wiring when only the fuse is burnt. $400 for a job like this? Do you think its worth $400? I rather you take $400 and go JB and mod the bike to a carb bike, your problems solve once and for all. There are better shops out there with trained mechanics that do Fuel injection bikes that i'm willing to part $400 with(not that i will). But ask yourself this question, " is there a need to when you are not riding at full throttle on a cub that weights less than 100kg?"

No offense but this shop doesn't earn my respect for giving this solution. The problem will eventually be back and you will still be stuck at square one. My advice to people reading this post... don't bother changing the fuel injector unless you need to ride full throttle all the time, you won't gain any top speed for doing so

Proper knowledge and understanding of bike will still allow wave-i to perform just like any other waves,(friends reading this, care to share how fast my wave accelerates? hehe) but the thing that separates wave-i from other waves is the ability to go more than 60km/L anywhere, anytime(and by no means gentle riding).

I'm sick and tired of people PMing me and asking how to solve this powercut thing when in the first place they bought this bike without the correct mentality. So once and for all, let me put it:

Mods and higher fuel consumption -> Wave-s, Wave-r

Stock and lower fuel consumption -> Wave-i

Posted

1st two gears of the stock wave-i is faster than most bikes! :cheeky:

quite frankly, i dont know why there is a need to remove the powercut...

and many many, i really mean MANY MANY mechanics will happily tell you that this a real problem and you should change the cdi and the whole set of injectors.

let them be la

cos if they "sayang" their bike of course they will get curious and try to find out ways to improve their rides. no matter hw small the bike or for watever purpose they intend to use it for

who are we to say to a person if u buy this bike then its for this use etc etc

u mentioned that there are many shops that can do fuel injection bikes? care to share which shops do so? someone said they heard rumours that some shops can just fix the electrical component which is attached to the fuel injector but i forgot who was the one who said tt. mebe we can follow up from this lead?

I have been riding my Wave i for nearly two years now. My power cut is kicking in early. When I got my bike I can reach 110 km/h on flat road before experiencing power cut. After a while it drops to 100 km/h then 90 km/h and this week it can only reach 75 km/h before hitting power cut.

The strange thing about my bike is that it still have very smooth idling and the other is that it can be full throttled to 110 km/h. When I full throttle my bike it will hit the power cut then accelerate to 110 km/h. The problem is I can not maintain speed at the range of 80 to 100 km/h. I am now stuck with the dilemma of 0-75 km/h which is too slow of me or 110 km/h which is too fast of me.

Any suggestion to the problem I'm experiencing?

1) Overhaul? (mileage over 45k, do whack my bike something due to 100kg pillion)

2) Change to racing CDI? (since the bike can reach 110 km/h so i just need to get rid of the power cut?)

3) Change my Fuel Injector? (FI spoiled?)

my bike maintainance and riding style?

1) EO change after 2000km

2) Air filter change every 15000km

3) Spark plug every 10000km

4) Sometime will whack my bike when I pillion my friend (100kg) will travel at 120km/h fearing that my bike will not have enough momentum to move up slopes at expressways

I love my bike alot so I like to repair it rather that just change a another bike.

Please help
