A fella rider suggest getting the Thai "power commander" and try to bring the bike for dyno, to get a remap since the PGM FI seems to be the primary culprit. Wat's your take???

Any specialised Wave workshop in SG???

Another rider suggest tuning. Though it's FI, we can still tune the fuel/air mixture, but without the aid of the FI computer, unless a shop is able to plug one in. What's your take???

So far i think its best to bring to a shop that can fix fuel injection bikes.. most smaller and neighhourhood bikeshop have no idea how to fix it.

You can only tune the idling of the wave-i.. the air/fuel mixture is computerised and auto-compensating.

So which shop we guys should go to diagnosis our Wave i???

Yet to bring the bike to any bikeshop.......no time.

JUST got a reply from my fren who's in Siam now......yup, the solution is to change the CDI. It's the CDI that's giving the powercut.......and sadly, the shop has no stock for the aftermarket CDI, which figures roughly SG$200.

But it's a racing CDI, so I'm not too sure if fuel consumption will go up or not......this is a spare bike to me, not a racing bike, ha ha.......though I admit trying to lap some fellow Wave S riders, only to smell smoke ALWAYS once the powercut comes in..... :cheeky:

Maybe a CDI from the 2nd batch Wave would solve this problem???

Or the CDI from Innova I????

My fren is still there, and he'll try to get more solutions for me, or us......Saw a FW or FX 3xxx Wave I at Changi Airport.....too bad, if I see the owner, I'll ask him if his bike is running the same prob or not, and maybe he/she MIGHT already solved it......

ewanktm, you riding Wave I too??? Or you rode the Orange Wave that modded with KTM graphics and knobby tyres??? That Wave, I can never forget......damn special and cool!!! :thumb:

CDI got so expensive meh? in Thai most items are cheap there. $200 sounds really too much.
