i think it's better to private settlement la. call up the driver and see if he want any compensation for his vehicle's damages. coz if claim thru insurance, will affect ur NCD, and it will ding dong here and there for quite some time. since u already admit it's ur fault, dun expect the uncle to compensate u i guess?

back in august got 1 taxi bang me. coz no injury, the insurance thingy now ding dong for quite some time already. now my insurance premium is damn ex due to that stupid taxi.

As you have told the other driver to make a claim against your insurer, you need to inform your insurer of the accident, and that the other driver says that he will be making a claim against you. Give them the details of the accident and let them handle it.

He who hesitates is lost!

okay im quite enlightened ther.... so my next qtn. im in the wrong. so usualy will the insurance company inform the police that a violation occured? cos i dun wan police involved. cos if do den big story aredi sum1 will sure get fined n points. (most prob me)

err.. usually non-injury/no 3 days mc police dun wanna bother.

try and ask if the driver wanna settle privately not? coz it will thus affect both your NCD and insurance premium will hike.

end o the day, ride safe.

But private settlements are risky, because people can get greedy. If he quotes an outrageous sum for the damages, would the TS be able to pay?

And no, if you inform of a non-injury accident to your insurance company, the Police will not be involved. It will be a settlement between the claimant (van driver) and your insurance company. And yes, expect your premiums to rocket sky-high the next time you try to renew it.

Ride safe, dude.

Ok , did he take any pic or did u write down anything claiming you were in wrong????

If not , Change story and claim him till his premium goes up 10fold.

Hehehe just kidding , what damage did u do to his van ???? if its minor and not tat ex and of cos if u have the money , Dont let him claim ur insuarance!!! just a minor acccident ppl claim from u , can shoot up ur insuarance!!!! Now u wont feel , but if u intend to upgrade to class 2 one day , then only will u feel the siongness.

please contact the fella and settle privately. the van i assume is company one..take pictures..ask a fren along. try as much as possible not toclaim from insurance. and do it fast before he engages a lawyer.

i hit a subaru and the freaking driver engaged a subaru. from a $300 bumper damage become $3.5k settlement. this is my lesson.

Think best is u call up the driver dan pivate settlment with black & white stated.. He claim a few hundred bucks from ur insurance, next yr when u need to renew ur insurance u gotta pay additional of few hundreds more also.. Worst still a record.. So private settlement is still the better option..

In an accident, you should nv admit that you are in the wrong!!! Cos if you admit then no chance liaoz. If you dun admit and let the lawyers of your imsuance company and the other party fight it out, you still stand a chance. At least can reduce the liability by abit (better than bear 100%). You should have taken some pics of the damage done as proof so that the van cannot make claims for wear and tear parts that is not due to the accident.

Also i feel that eventhough you makan into his lane, u r also not 100% at fault, maybe 80%. The remaining 20% can go to his slow reactions. Sakali he daydream when the accident happened so cant break in time to avoid hitting you.

dun be an *******. it is clear cut who is in the wrong. put urself in the driver shoe. the driver can just claim from the ts ins. if is just a few hundreds, it is wise to pte settle.

Come on la my fren. i did not ask the TS to lied and give any false statement leh. i merely advice him not to make the mistake of admitting fault even before any investigation is done. He should still state the truth account of what happened and let the authority decided how much liability he has bear. i didn't say TS is right and the van driver is wrong. i dunno why must you use such a word on me.
