Thank you all for the well wishes.... you know who you are.....i got a shock when i receive the mass SMS-----wah non stop coming in.....i am happy and i know esr also happy for me,she is happy,the whole world is happy...

I think this is most important part to begin with i.e. to consult with the non-profit organizations and see what are their real needs > then pit it to our own capabilities and commitment.

 

Suggestion: why not join in a charitable program organized by somebody else i.e. as participative volunteers and see how is it really done? It means we, as a group/groups, go sign up to help out a charitable event.

 

Once we have the experience, we can gauge the nature of the commitment needed if we do one ourselves.

I have did some research on the internet on the various charity organisations in Sg, it will take some work to do a linkup with them as they have specific needs and over here in ESR we have limited resources in terms of financials and manpower, etc. The challenge will be to find the good match in terms of needs and the ability to meet that need for the charity organisation.

 

There is even a possibility of doing these sort of charity work representing the entire SBF, with the coverage of thousands of forummers. That will greatly increase our resources.

 

Before all these good things can happen, a discussion is needed with Kushinagar to obtain his input and approval in the matter before it can be rolled out, as he is the forum owner.

 

The vision I have for this idea will be to start a charity wing within SBF and integrate with a few charity organisations which champion worthy causes, eg. welfare for orphans, the elderly, etc...

 

I hope to see this idea come to fruit, not for personal recognition but for the greater good... We live in a fcukup cold world, let's gather our strength and collective ideas to make it less so...

You can take a look at today's Straits Times' Classified C24, there is a full page listings of charity organisations in singapore that are in needs of help. It comes with complete details of organisation's name, tel, address, POC and the type of services/help they need.

 

It should come in handy in helping you to kickstart your charity mission.
