Italian bikes generally cost more..Not to mention the parts..

Few thing is u must ask urself..

- What you really wan??

- Are you gonna upgrade to 2A once u get it?

- How much you are earning monthly??

If you need a bike for purely transport, get a wave..You will save alot..Or a SP, might not save as much as a wave..

If you gonna upgrade to a 2a after u get it, dun spend so much on 2b..

Dun kill ur wallet and end up wif no moolas just becos u wana ride..

Got 2 points for wobbling while coming down from slope, got 4 points for the pylon (6 secs), 2 points for incorrect technique for e- brake, 4 points for changing lane suddenly and 4 points for failing to check blindspot after coming out from S course before stopping for crank course. I checked that blind spot during warm up and during pre assessment but forgot to check for assessment. I can't remember the name of the instructor but heard that he's a senior @ BBDC.

Dun kill ur wallet and end up wif no moolas just becos u wana ride..

buying a bike and maintaining it shouldn't create a big hole in ur pocket..

for tat i agree..

however, riding something tat u dun like is another thing..

u'll never appreciate the bike, u wun take care of it, u'll hesitate whenever u need to replace sthg expensive..

if u like sp, but u buy a wave.. everytime u see others ride sp, u sian by 1/2..

everytime when it comes to a situation of slowing down or speeding up, u hate it becos u can only choose to slow down, the wave just can't go fast enough to overtake. And u hate every moment of tat.. (Note, i'm using this as an example.. wave lovers, pls dun scold me~!)

u wun enjoy ur ride at all.. so buy sthg tat u like.. or sthg tat u have firmly decided on.

my current ride is sv400s..

it's a rare 2a bike.. so rare tat i can probably count up to 20 in sg only ba..

but y?

i had a couple of choices back then. Sportsbikes are totally out, becos of all the squarish designs.. they can be fast but i can't stand the look of it. Crusiers are out as i'm looking for something faster this time.

So i'm down to streetbikes.

1. s4

2. hornet 250

3. sv400s

4. ducati monster 400

s4 has the top speed i want, parts very common, bike also common, theft also common. and so many of my frens ride it. boring sia

hornet 250, is cool looking (great high mount stock exhaust), lower top speed, it has a high rev engine so u need to keep the bike screaming to go fast

sv400s, has the looks, having a v-twin engine is great for street riding, great fuel consumption (has lots of power without compensating with fuel economy for sg speeds, slower to reach the same top speed as a s4 with power cut but fuel consumption better~!), harder to find parts

ducati monster 400, has the looks, expensive parts, low top speed

comparing the pros and cons, i finally made up my mind and i'm loving it, enjoying every ride.. i've clocked 15,000km in just 3 months and 80% riding in sg

i accepted tat my bike cannot accelerate tat fast when travelling overseas, but i'm definitely more comfy at 190km/h with my fairing than a naked s4..

Hope everyone can understand a little more with the example

sounds like u r a bit kan chong spider..

- wobbling while descending the slope (can't say much about this, just relax when coming down)

- slow speed in the pylon (u r really afraid to hit the cones this time, but i'm sure u r more confident usually, just scared but wanna do well)

- incorrect technique for e brake (depends on individual tester or instructor de, i've got an instructor whom kao bei at me everytime i e-brake and also another whom found nothing wrong with it.. double standards sometimes)

- abrupt lane change (this is the worse offence, tester penalize a lot on this, check ur blind spot properly and lane change steadily)

- fail to check blindspot (bo bian, must memorize.. go thru each of the spots by visualizing b4 the test.. it helps)

winter : sometimes, really depends on luck.

u checked they nvr see, they mark u down.

u think its pretty smooth lane change, they consider abrupt.

some instructors think its okie, but testers think its not so they mark u down here n there *sweatz*

now me dun wanna have too high expectations liao. everytime tense up then sure got c*** up somewhere haha. Very ex to keep on repeating one :sian:

SP 11km/l? wah lauz... sure or not? the smaller size cars also can hit tat FC level leh.... haha i got a fren so save oil tat he manage to hit 15km/l for his honda jazz. Kauz.... was pretty impressed... LOL :cheeky:

hey thanks to everyone for their comments..

like what hart said, buy something that you like. i'm very gian to ride. i can just go down any motordiam tomorrow and get a SP and start riding immediately. but i won't be happy with it. i'll "sian 1/2" when i see other aprilia on the road.. you're more of a passion person when it comes to bike.. while MC28's more of a logical person. so yeah.. (: passion and logic can never have an equal balance..
