Anyone done brake fluid flush on their Wave?

How often should we do it? Once a year?

Leave the hydraulic fluid as it is.

No need to do anything. The more you do, the "worse" it can be.

What engine oil do you guys usually use? Cos so far I used 10w-50 for mine and Im wondering is it alittle overkill for a wave. Tho I change engine oil every 3000km

I use 10-40. 4T oil must be semi-syn. (10W-40; Semi-Syn is about S$17).

I change spark plug together with engine oil about 3000km.

 

For old motorcycle, no need to use full syn.

Does your Wave have uneven tire wear?

My rear tire wears out fast whereas my front is still ok.

I pump & check my tire pressure regularly.

Could be due to high frequency of u riding with pillion. Or heavy cargo in ur box... here's just the posibilities..

Taking off a topbox if you have one could help...Alternatively you could also try losing some body fats.

Physics 101,

Force = mass x acceleration

Acceleration= chance in velocity /time taken

Mass = Weight / Gravitional pull

 

Other than that if u cld find a flux capacitator and a power source of 1.21GigaWatts. U cld go back to the future...

I don't pillion at all, heavy cargo in box probably but I dont think a set of raincoat is that heavy.

Just changed the following items in JB for my Wave,

 

Rear Tyre Dunlop TT100: RM90

Battery FB FTZ5S : RM80

Front brake switch: RM20

How fast ar you refering to? Cose gud brake pads ar nt suppose to last long. And some even better one could even 'bite' into ur disc brake which is a bad idea.

I put it in the same manner as our erasers, if the ar nv finishing only means they arent doing their job. Same goes for tyres.

I understand you cannot have brake pads with 10/10 bite and 10/10 durability.

 

My definition of 'good' means I'm finding a brake pad that is 7/10 for both bite and durability. Value for money lah.

 

Yesterday i changed to gold fren for $35 for front pads. Used it on my r1 and it has like 8/10 bite. Not sure about durability coz i sold off my r1.

anyone knows where to get original OEM Wave exhaust?

mine is more than 10 years old and nearly failed last year's LTA vehicle inspection, but the inspector gave me a chance & passed me.

JB is selling those "chiong" ones at RM110, but it looked like an original but it doesnt have the Honda label there.

4 years ago i bought leovince scoot at CNY promotion of $299. Plus lta inspection for the pipe is 100++ total around 400plus. And leovince scoot have no serial no. Engraved on it. It originally only cones with a serial no. Sticker. Due to heat/ wear and tear ny sticker fly off. Now i am having a hard time to clear yearly inspection, even though its legal. No stick = illegal. I have tried to called up uniquie motorsport, they also cant do anything about it.

 

Prevent yourself from fine, hassle from yearly inspection. Think twice. Unless unhave orignal pipe to change for inspection.

Spend 400plus to get a LEGAL aftermarket exhaust. and just a serial no sticker fly off. Your pipe become illegal.

For me, I never clean my carbs unlessthe Mech thinks there is a need. Of my 10 over years at most I clean around 1 time as the Mech asked me to. As for plug, I change yearly no matter how much I use it. I never use kick start. My e start got slight problem I go get it rectified.
