Ya. That's what I heard from my dad, and my cousin who has been riding Steed for years. He had to scrap his bike as he couldn't renew COE anymore, otherwise he would have. My dad just overhauled this bike. So should be good for another couple of years. He can't bear to sell it or scrap it since next year COE ends. He just passed it to me. If the bike proves its worth, I might just renew the COE next year.

 

Bro you know where to get lowering kit for this bike?

Haha! No worries bro. Might source for that from Webike if I can't it here. How low is it now? Got cover at least half of your sidewalls? 2.5"? Shocks stiffer? Or feels the same?

thats the vse model. Modification possible but not easy nor simple

The rear monoshock is adjustable but really soft. Will bottom out always unless you are less than 80kg

Thanks Hydher and 736cc for the inputs. Is this shorter shock easily available? I like the Sportster Iron rear rend, anyone here tried customizing with sportsters rear fender?

U can use a lowering kit found online. I may have one to sell too. And I'm using a sportster fender but had to widen it as the steed rear tyre is wide.

Hi Sprint74, wow, I didn't expect to find someone who has already done it with the sportster fender. Cool, you did you diy or sent to a custom workshop? Does the lowering kit compromise the ride quality and comfort? Appreciate your input, cheers

Diy but needed help with welding. For the lowering kit, Just stiffen your shock to the max ok already. But better if ur shock is still good and doesn't bottom out at current setting. Then adding the lowering kit will stiffen the ride a bit but get the tyre under fender look. Hehehe

If u wana mod a sportster fender like my springer, then no need a lowering kit already. Just lower the fender a bit nice already. Mine doesn't hv a lowering kit by the way.

Hi all, my current rear suspension is quite soft for me and pillion even though adjusted to hardest. Is there any modification work to strengthen it? Or can buy stronger one, like after market? Can anyone enlighten me please? Thanks in advance.

A while back, I had the same problem with my steed. The only one I know is http://www.bits4motorbikes.co.uk/Hagon/Hagon-Monoshock.html?ID=136 but got put off with the price. New cost $500 and used about $150 onwards.

 

The problem is with the spring rate. Try if suspension shops can swap it out.. bikeworks / tachyon motors

 

Im on a dragstar now and im happy at setting no 3 / 9.
