Hi bros, need some advises from you guys. I'm looking for someone who does steel mounting to put up a sissy bar and to relocate my rear signal lights near to the sissy bar mounting.Currently my rear signals was fitted at the helmet lock area, which i find it too front. Dont really like the current position of the rear signal lights and one of them was stolen when parked in hdb carpark so got to get it fix. Read from cruiser's forum that Seng Kwang Metal Industrial Co does customized mounting. Anyone been there? Are the charges reasonable? Or anyone got good recommendations?

Do you have a back rest? If yes can mod it to mount the Sisy bar.. IMO Seng kwang is very very ex, you can try Mezzo custom.. PM Sprint74 for adress cos I've never been there myself.. If you look back a few pages you can find one of our bro here relocated his rear turn signal on the swing arm.. Not sure if that will suit you.. You can mount on the sisy bar,but gotta find a way to hide the wires..

Riot-Bike Co.

Hi bro, my bike doesn't have a back rest. I got the sissy bar, it comes with the bike but not fitted, as the previous owner customized the rear fender. Maybe I'll try to put up a photo to have a clearer picture :)

Welcome bro,

My basic maintenance costs (EO, Air filter, Oil filter, Coolant, Spark Plugs, Brake Pads, Braking Oil etc)

- average up to $100 per month, from a 1 yr record

FC differs among the steed riders.. depending on how hiong you ride / mods you've made. It ranges from 18-26km/l

- mine is 24km/l

There are three steed models. Differences are mostly aesthetic, except for the springer's different front fork suspension. You can google for the pics

- Steed VLX

- Steed Springer

- Steed VSE

Wah! your exhaust looks impressive and extra long! Niwei, I don't think you can mount your sissy bar without supporting from the fender (the two holes on the frame, which is behind your holeless fender). And it won't look nice cos of the sidebars (it'll look like it's in the middle of the green paint). That's my 2 cents. :cheeky:

Even for bobber choppers with sissybars, the mounting is usually from the swingarm, then screwed to both sides of the fender for support and then joined together at the top like yours. Maybe you can also mount your signal lights on the sissy bar..

I can recommend a welder for modding your sissybar but in the end you'll have to pay for the welding (the sissybar + mounting on your swingarm) as well as the rechroming. Lastly, the look will not really be 'gam' cos your long fender actually looks nicer without the sissybar, unless you're able to get the VSE handrails and somehow fix it with the VLX fender cum side covers then maybe you can get the Fatboy look (long fender + handrail + sissybars = cool) . :thumb:

I must really salute to Sprint74 as he can tell from a small photo that I am not using stock exhausts. Impressive..:thumb: Hope you are not working in LTA :p

Thanks for sharing your view and I really appreciate your advises. I think I know what you mean by not 'gam' fixing the sissy bar onto my bike after looking at photos of other countries Steed mods.

Nice pic. You should try to mod your bike to follow the pic. You can try looking for steed or dragstar handrails from scrapyard. Don't use the shadow ones cos it's curved and IMHO, will not look so nice. But the problem will be the curved part behind your sidecovers, they might get in the way. And I finally get wat you mean about your brakelights. Before you decide to drill the brakelight for the signals, you might wana consider placing the signals in the sissybars.. And you're probably riding a VLX so you have to change to longer cables/ wires if you wana use apebars.

On another note, I have a pair of used Diaphrams (still usable), according to my mechanic, cos I changed a new pair ($138 each!). Niwei, the rubber is still soft and no visible tear. A bit of wear cos of up and down travelling motion in the carb. Good for bros here whose carbs have overflowed before and the rubber diaphram has hardened, but on tight budget. It's FOC by the way.

It gives much better sound and also power. Even cruising at high speed above 100km/h , can still feel the power when you open up the throttle to overtake. :p Only met LTA once while riding on road but i kept my rpm below 3k.manage to get off safely :p

Posted
Hi Oldboy,

Mind if i ask how do you know your rpm?

I arga arga.. Usually rpm above 3k will much louder.. When I see tp, I kick to the next higher gear and open abit of throttle to ride past them. If at expressway just travel at 80km/h , they wont hear loud noises from my bike. :)
