hi, its the first time i using a tubeless tire.

Last night, my rear went almost flat.... i can only pump air in at the kiosk thru the "flat tire" option...

i cant find any punctured holes... so i am kinda ruling out the possibility of any punctures...

is it possible that the air leak out from other source ?

and is it common to pump air every month or so ?

regards

When u say 1st time using tubeless tire, means u just bough the bike? If the bike is as shown in your siggy, then u can’t use tubeless tire.

Ok, assume that u just bought the bike with sport rim (ie for tubeless tire), then the likely could be;

1 - There ia a leakage at the air valve. Get it changes at less then $10 only.

2 - The bike could hv been BUANG before which affect the rim's lips meant for airtight seal.

3 - The tire could be very old (ie old stock). Old tire compound could hv unseen hairline crack, where the air seep out bit by but.

Speak of the devil! Woke up this morning and found my rear tyre flat! Had some difficulty riding to the nearby Caltex, but managed to pump and it leaked out again. Managed to pinpoint the hole using soap water. Very tiny and I suspect someone might have used a needle to puncture my tyre. Spread the soap bubbles all around your tyre and watch out for a big bubble that would form. Fix it with a tyre repair kit.

How much for a tire repair kit. my fren tells me it's good to have on the bike. You nv know when a burst tire may happen.

pump every month? well maybe if you ride your bike everyday. personally i check my tire pressure each week or so.

yes. if your tubeless tires go totally flat you must use the "flat tire" option to pop the tires to stick to the rim. which is why footpumps may not be able to fill up flat tires. compressed air pumps can be purchased at a good bicycle shop. go go zefal pumps! but! refil cannisters are not cheap... so i suggest the pumps be kept for emergency use only.

buy a tire pressure guage. its cheap. 3 bucks can get at petrol kiosks, the TypeR brand ones.

you can actually find tire repair kits at DIY shops like Homefix. strangely.

if your tires suffered from a drastic puncture that a repair kit cant repair, and you dont want to change the tires... a way to get your bike running would be install a tube. cheaper than buying a new tire, eh?

You can get it from Mustafa Centre. It comes with a tool with a sharp end and a few pieces of "worms" - Sticky rubber compound.

Once you pinpoint the hole, you puncture it with the tool a few times to clean it up. Then you stick one of the "worms" into the tool and push it into the hole. Once inside, you pull the tool out and cut out the excess rubber. Then pump up your tires and you're good to go.
