Does anyone remember why full face helmets were banned in the past?

Was it because there was a gang that was wearing FF helmets to rob banks, and the govt decided to ban FF helmets entirely?

its becos of tis ban back then tat ff helmet is not popular among sg riders now (esp those riding smaller bikes).

do u know tat in philippines, 95% of riders wear ff (rest of 5% probably dun wear helmet at all) and do u know tat 90% of bikes there r kups (mainly honda waves).

if a rider of a small bike is seen wearing ff in sg, he/she will probably b seen as 'weird rider' or worst a 'joker'. see how a ban has changed our local motorcycling culture.

I must say this is one rule where they "woke up to their senses" and thankfully lifted the ban.

What stoopid gahmen skolar at that time thought that FF helmets were the cause of bank / jewellery robberies? I'd like to string that guy up...

Very few places here in the States allow no helmets but most require them. I ride the busa with a ff for obvious safety reasons. IF you are going to wear the leather gear why not go ahead and get a ff helmet?

What I don't understand is, if you ban the FF for all bikers, is that going to stop the bank robbers from wearing it to rob banks??!

What were they thinking? Duuuh....

Hmm... another thing about ff is that it blocks yr side vision... hence blind spot area is wider... rob bank? haha... can wear half face wif tinted visor still can rob mah... or wear mask better still... ff so heavy... wanna ran away also take longer time..
