hi..to anyone who installed bike alarm on their bike, how's your experience with it? i am riding a sportster and my scorpio alarm is installed in a vertical position due to space constraint.

although the perimeter sensor and ignition alarm works fine, the shock sensor isn't working that well and the tilt sensor is basically non-existant i.e doesn't even sound when i upright my bike from park position. the manual says the optimal position is horizontally so i guess that might be the problem.:(

Just like what plasticblackspecs have said, space constraint is a problem for Sportster and the alarm need to be fixed in its recommended position. Perhaps you should try looking hard for other available slot to hold your alarm or you should just purchase a smaller size alarm set that fit your minimum requirement. There are a few alarm sets in the market which you can search on Yahoo auction, Ebay, Motorworld, China Bargain, Cheetah etc.

Cheers.

I have a temp alarm given to me from Sean. Battery operated. I just put it in the front frame area near the horn. Doesn't really help in terms of security, but at least when I park in an area with a lot of people and I arm the alarm. People hear already might think "oh got alarm, dun disturb" and might deter a bit as opposed to them waiting for you to walk away before jumping on the sportster for a picture taking session. 'specially with the flimsy sensitive side stand.
