hello cg-ians,i've been riding my cg for a while already. here's what i feel:

its a powerful bike for a 125cc(probably mine used to have a side car.)sturdy.fuel efficient.

some hiccups that i encountered, when i open throttle, the engine dies...this was when i discovered that water will seep into my fuel tank.and when i encountered this a 2nd time, i know exactly what to do,i used my key(as a replacment for a flat head screwdrive) to turn a screw to release some fuel. After which the bike can run normally.but should i drain the whole fuel and replace it with a fresh tank of petrol since it has been mixed with water??? I find it wasteful to do so.

my bike actually dropped 4 times due to strong winds and largely due to uneven mainstand. I dont know how the mainstand got crooked, likely due to wear and tear.thankfully no scars, else i heart very very pain.i am gonna replace my mainstand very soon.its now on a side stand.

1 thing that irks me is that when i pump a full tank of petrol.it will seep a little bit out from the fuel cap area thus dirtying the exterior of my fuel tank.this will stop only when i have covered some distance.mine is a new fuel cap....but why is this happening??? And to prevent water from getting into my fuel tank,i even thought of making a fuel tank 'bra' at eugene saddlery...

there's 2 things still outstanding of my CG.1 is to either purchase a new seat(anyone knows where i can get the vintage bigger version?) or re-wrap the seat to a different color, 2 is to find somone in singapore to custom made my exhaust pipe(this is a very dis-heartening as most bike shops i approaced cant do what i want).

Have fun riding people. Ride safe.my regards to all cg-ians

Oh i have still yet to establish the 1litre- x km but i think its abt 34-37km/litre. due to some petrol leaks from the fall. Its inaccurate.once when the mainstand is fixed.i'll get a full tank and travel till the fuel tank runs dry, then i will get a result.i hope it can hit 42km/litre. i was also thinking whether CG125 can install an electric start thingy, gettting lazy....

1.take a container safe from gasoline.

turn pet c o c k to res.

flow out the gas

open fuel cap,let the inner tank air.

get fresh gasoline

pour in

old gas can use for other things.eg waste dirty thing

use a magnet to cover the key hole.

2.go to a welder to weld back the main stand.they can be found @ behind ah boy workshop (a shop doing side cart)

3.change a fuel cap will help as the rubber is wearing off.

4.why you need to change seat?i got a spare 1.sms me if you need

cg can easily hit 40km/l.

ride safe.

Hello Everyone. I just bought this cg 125 last week for 800$(machine price, 1981 bike). this is my first bike and just wanna use for transportation. So far, i have change the brake light, signal light, repair the suspension rubber seal(40$). Then the other day, i think the 2nd day after i bought the bike, the carburetor leak a lot! So i went to the same shop to do it, and the uncle just open the whole carburetor and clean it, then it was ok. the next night itself, the thing leaking again. Rabak Man! When on the fuel valve and start the bike at neutral, the overflow from the carburetor leak a lot. Luckily the shop at defu lane is open at 1am, and the mechanic said the pin inside the carburetor is stuck due to oil in side the tank is dirty(might be rusty inside). Another 25$. Tony Chan, Is it normal for this type of problems for an old bike? i like boring already everyday go repair bike, hahaha. Now going shop again, cause the engine case is leaking, i wanna change the engine gasket....

suspension seal 40sgd?might as well get a new set at 25sgd-30sgd.

brake light 15-20sgd

signal light abt 3-5sgd each

why craburetor leaking???o ring/seal spoilt?when you park your bike?

did you close your pet c o c k after you park your bike?

i believe you went to defu lane shop.boss-ah leong/mech-mohan.

try to get a petrol filter.it can filter the rust.

engine casing leaking, gonna change the gasket

it depends on luck to buy a 2nd hand bike,

some is in very good condition

some is in bad condition.

i just bought a dr200.

rebuilt it and took it out for a ride and the engine is leaking...

repair and replacement(top overhaul/change timing chain etc and more) cost me abt 350sgd and counting.......

get a petrol filter

if can replace the craburetor should be less than 70sgd

engine casing gonna replace gasket

go to your fav bike shop to get the bike done.

trust me

cg is a lovely bike which will make you happy.

if you need refer to my fav bike shop just sms me @ 94515020.

enjoy the ride.

hello everyone. Just wanna ask the cg's out there, do anyone of you facing any engine oil leakage? cuz mine is leaking bit by bit and when i check the engine oil dip stick, its like very little already. i really cant find the source of the leakage, i suspect that its from the tube which comes out from the engine and i think is called the breather but then Tony chan told me that its normal cause that is the engine oil vapour so it cant be it. When i park my bike, the next day theres a small puddle of engine oil at the main stand. When i see the bottom of the bike and check, i cant find the source because it leaks and flows at the main stand frame just below the engine. Guys, any ideas?

Hi guys!

I just got myself a cg125 not long ago and i'm loving the bike! everything from the way it looks to the way it handles and sounds. I've got some questions though and a meetup would be great. Otherwise it'd help if any of you could help answer my noob qns here.

Is there a reserve tank on the cg125? how do i switch from main to reserve?

Also hor, is it normal to leave the choke on full when i ride? cos if i switch to half choke, then the engine will just stall on me when idling at traffic light.

Any places to recommend for spraying of tank? I wanna mod my cg to look like army style bike...includes changing the mudguard or exhaust to black ones. right now the chrome ones seems quite leh cheh cos need to polish right, else it'll rust.

hope all the cg owners can meet up again soon! vintage bikes ftw

can't be that carburetor needs cleaning right? cos i just bought the bike off a shop just 3 weeks back...could it be the idle screws? so..i have to start the bike with choke on, but once it's started i can switch it off? what happens if i ride with the choke on? cos i've been doing that for the past few weeks. Am i damaging my bike?

wow some help spraying would be nice, cos i don't even know how to remove the tank... :cheeky:

i'll be sure to come along the next time the cg125s have a meet up!

paiseh. haha. mistook fuel c o ck for choke.

then again...what's the ideal idle rpm for cg125? i'm adjusting my idle screw now...not sure what's too high. cos i still stall sometimes at traffic lights. oh and what's the max speed for everyone's cg? mine seems to be about 100 but then it's screaming, so i go about 90 on average.

BTW, please ride safe everyone. i almost got into an accident the other day riding along xiao guilin to gombak. this woman driver turned out of the side road without checking oncoming traffic and stopped in the middle of the road. had to swerve to avoid her cos she was almost in my face when she turned.

lesson learnt: don't speed even on minor roads. AND of course be wary of women drivers

nothing will happen with choke on just high idling.engine exploded!!

will guide you along to remove the whole bike(on site).no worry!

Perosnally, I on full choke every morning just to start the bike. After riding about 200m to moderately warm up the bike, I turn the choke back to normal. If I fail to do so, the bike will start to sputter after a while.

this is common as engine is not heated up.

btw saw you riding along sims drive few days ago!

nice business shirt!:thumb:

aiyo pet c o c k and choke also mix up!:faint:

ideal idle depends on individual, some prefer high some prefer low.

why stall at traffice light?just give a light turn to the gas every 5 sec or set idle higher a bit.

im 95kg.all my tools is in the bike abt 15kg

my fastest speed with side pannier is 120km/h

with a 70kg pillion is 100km/h

with a 95kg pillion is 90km/h

comfort speed is 55-60km/h

i had mod my rear rim using rxz as can play with gear ratio.im now on 15/35

i think i blew a piston on the PIE last night ))):

tonychan says it's most likely that. any second opinions? i suddenly lost engine power and the bike stalled. managed to restart it on the shoulder but a puff of smoke came out from my engine the moment i did. after which, the engine sounded very rough metallic-ish and loud.

could still ride home but didn't dare push it. are there any mechanics that operate during cny? damn suay sia. i just bought my cg almost a month only. can i go back to the shop and yell at the mechanic for free repair once they open?
