Sorry, i first time posting in the main forum other than the buy/sell. I realize it might be a stupid question.

Do you guys know which bikes the TP here using? You know, the white one with the big front windscreen and the white fairing on the headlights? I guess it might be a cruiser/tourer thats why i post it here.

I read somewhere our police using Yamaha XJ900s. Is it illegal to have a bike that looks exactly the same as the Police bike except no police decals and the siren lights?

I read online and saw that alot of police bikes are using drive shaft.

Seems like the police bikes needs to be reliable(cut down repair cost), fuel efficient(save police petrol money), comfortable riding positions(they need to ride all day), pick up fast(need to chase speeders) and their size and fairings seems like they can buang and still stay 45%, wouldnt flip over, no need crash bars or sliders.

Is there anyone here who ride one exactly like this?

I am now getting my 2B but will aim to get class 2. Then, its fireblade or a police like bike. :cheeky:

The older TP bikes are the Yamaha Diverson 900s. The latest one is the Honda VFR 800.

Sure to have people riding the bike as they are production models.

It's your damn bike, wash it yourself! You rinse your own mouth after you eat, don't you?

No its not, as long as it pass the LTA inspection

Now all TP bike uses shaft for easier maintenance.

Nope the bikes do hjave crash bar if you look closely and the handle bar were change to higher for better/comfortable handling. The pick up (torque) are just a normal big cc production engine, there is more faster pick up bikes.

Fireblade would beat the TP bike anytime, only if you dare.:cheeky:

Shiraz, thanks for the info!

Wah the new ones using interceptor? No bad man, think can sign on TP, later straight away get class 2 license le. So only the fairing different?

Dont really like yamaha bikes cause last time secondary sch use yamaha recorder, now playing bass use yamaha bass, go yamaha bass lesson, at home use their theater system, riding still use their bike somemore?

Yeah ppl will tend to hate you when u ride like TP bike. I got a blackbird friend who was speeding around 120 - 130 on the highway and saw a white TP like bike in front. He slowed down then realize its not TP. They both stopped at the orchard exit and my boyfriend chit chatted with the guy saying he scared the **** out of him. The one that ride the TP bike just snigger at him. Anti social sia.

Yeah fireblade really fast bike, good technology. Honda has been winning most of the MotoGP and Superbikes but seems like last year ducati won. The stoner guy on a GP7.

If ducati dont cost as much as a small car, confirm wouldnt aim jap bikes le. Hahahaha

Was reading around the other time and come across Honda STX1300. Seems like a pretty cool bike. Already got the police like fairings. Paint it pure white, and put the "Fujiware Tofu Shop" decals.

Seriously can't understand the mindset of those riding those TP-look-alike bike, be it FJR, STX or Diverson. Nothin wrong abt riding those bike. Nothin wrong abt having their bike white. But why to the extend of fixing those small square box at the back, paste those chacker sticker on their side box like what TP have, and I even saw a few with the siren light pot but with the siren light covered with cloth bag (will be illegal is not covered).

They enjoyed being curse by fellow mates? Was at GP once, alone for a petrol run. 2 such bike come in and kana suan by a big group of riders who are there earlier. u can really imagine what words they used and how creating their curse can be.

While I am praying everywhere for a safe ride, some are going everywhere inviting curse ..........

Hi Guys,

Can i ask how true is the rumour abt the Tuas 2nd link causeway (between the Singpore and Malaysia customs) not having any police petrol?

I tried once b4 but nowadays ppl claim that TP petrols that area.

Thanks.

Some of them could actually be plainclothes TP...

For regular tourers, those "siren" like lights are actually very useful especially for marking. If I have a ST (white DO look nicer than then other colors) and I tourer often and am a marker I'd also get those siren sticks. Makes marking a whole lot easier job to do.

In fact I very happy to see a marker who is brightly lit cos I hollanded once and almost hollanded 2nd time cos of some fake markers. Grrr

Some of the bikes are actually TP version. Like the ST11 for example. ST11P (something like that but the last letter is P) is actually the ST11 - Police model. Thats the ones that have the small box behind.

Some of these guys riding these STs are actually TPs. Heard from my friend one of these STs stopped him once and scolded him for cutting in front of him without signalling. Heard that "TP" was quite arrogant too

BTW one of my friend's friend owns a foreign TP bike (Think germany)... i think it was an aprilla? It even comes with the blinker lites

Police officer NOT in uniform and NOT in marked vehicle/bike under normal circumstances cannot / will not stop other veh. Unless you causing danger lah.

If on traffic duties, sure wear uniform. NO such thing as plain clothes traffic duties.

If plainclothes ones ask to stop, can ignore, how I know he police or robber...

There was an article in paper, ST forum, this guy kinda stop by plainclothes CID in unmarked (ie: normal) car for using handphone. He write to papers question if the procedure is correct, basically KL lah..

Police respond that he was causing danger to other rd user, officer to ensure public safty, thus must stop him. think he kinda dangerous driving .. lan lan ...

Actually I think plainclothes TPs in police motorbikes do ride around looking for errant drivers, although they're easy to spot with the big red siren / light on the back of the bike.

For the record, a policemen DOESN'T have to be in uniform to book or arrest anyone. He just needs his warrant card to identify himself. So if you do get pulled over by one, please don't argue with him about not having any authority to do so. You might get arrested for obstruction...
