Using showa orginal rear suspension. These few daes i notice my rear left suspension if slightly oily. Wipe off & yet the oil comes back.

Could it be the suspension leaking oil?

Hw much to repair?

Other than rebuild is there ani other solutions? Cos rebuilt is beri costly.

My suspension is still reasonable condition stiff & response ok. Jz mayb start to leak oil.

Mr.Big is right lah...mine no leak but gotten soft. This was 5+ years ago and worth my $300. Showa original was selling about nearly $800+ at that time. Teck Thye does it. Call 62826564 and asked David for a quote. Last week someone did it for $230..not sure what he did but was his second time there. He lost his first Sversion the first time which he did for $300 also.

a simple case of leaky seal. just send it in for servicing.

package usually includes cleaning/inspection of internals and externals, new oil seals, fresh dose of suspension oil, and recharge of nitrogen gas IF applicable.

Hi

You can contact Bikelab under the advertisers. They had rebuild my rear suspension changed the seals and at the same time set it to my required weight for myself and my pillion. Look here they should be able to solve your problems.

Whatever motodiam to do suspension or back absorber...jsut be sure they do it and not sub-con out. You may get a good price...but they get better to make profit..but right at the other end..you get $1 for $1 service quality and results..middle party don't care much. Even if you comes back..you be referred to the source of repair and still end up pauing $$$s.

Please send your suspension to a certified person. Meaning he has a good reputation of repairing suspension. When you talk about service it's not just cleaning the exterior, pumping air and pouring any oil. The person must be able to know the specs of the shocks and your needs like your weight and pillion weight. Just be careful when you send the shocks to service by the bike shops or you may end up killing in the event of failed suspension.

Just sharing my experienced.

well said.. any tom, **** or harry can open up any suspension and do an oil/seal change, but do they really know what are they doing?

leave it to the real professionals to do it. it might be costly, but it beats sending to a 'professional' who claims he/she can do it but ends up screwing up the shock and you have to spend even MORE money to send to real professional to service it.

seen and heard too many cases already..

not true. it does not make any difference if they sub-con out the job. the suspension still gets fixed, and most importantly, the job still gets done.

if they sub-con out the job to a suspension specialist, it means that the bikeshop KNOWS that they are not capable of doing it good. they would rather have it fixed up by a professional and making sure that nothing goes wrong, and that customer will be someone who is happy with the servicing.

I don't think you undertand what I'm trying to say.."just be sure they do it and not sub-con out"..."they" being the specialist.."sub-con" is the middle man. Of course it makes a big different..the rider is paying cheaper to the mototiam because he find it cheaper than the specialist and the specialist has to give the middle man a profit margin. Please read my post carefully.

the suspension still gets fixed, and most importantly, the job still gets done.

But not for the work quality of a specialist charging $300 if he approach direct to that of a sub-con $230 quoted to the rider...like I said in one of my post around..."$1 for $1 quality work".

if they sub-con out the job to a suspension specialist, it means that the bikeshop KNOWS that they are not capable of doing it good.

Of course its common sense that they can't do it but they can do it for you for their price (normally cheaper and that's the trouble). They can send to a pro specialist and be done at a price that do not have the quality as if the rider would to send it himself/herself which is more costly...now this is what I meant by middle man profit. The trouble is that most rider tend to go for cheaper cost after sourcing around and when they come to one mototiam can do what they thought..that's where they end up looser in the end.

All in all and in short...like what Advrider said..."Please send your suspension to a certified person"...amen.
