Guys let me give u a rough idea of what i had gone through this few days ... Recently i took a 2nd hand bike from bike shop in bukit merah $******n M****$ this shop got, 2 weeks after i took out the bike the battery went dead.

 

-They changed new battery, but a 8Ah bettery (suppose to use 11Ah), so told the guy my bike battery not this size lehh ... he tell me "warranty WHAT!!!, battery can fit inside holder means can use already"... KNN this kinda of after service also have arh!!

 

Just 1 Month later went to thailand and bike died at hatyai ... before came back had told bike shop that "i not too happy with the quality of bike they gave me", so they say can change for me.

 

-during the period when my bike was being shifted over from thai to sin i had ask how to settle my bike repair cost, salesman said "if not so expensive we bear the cost lah,Maybe we can half half lah the cost too expensive, coz partly our fault didn't service the bike properly" ... came back and this was what happen.

 

- When bike reached singapore i had it towed to their bike shop and had called to inform the chief mechanic, don't repair first, wait until i come and decide ... "he said u want to selll the bike also must repair u want to keep the bike also must repair what!!!" ... By the time i reached the shop the bike was already dissassemble with engine oil in the drip panand he told me repair cost $580, so i went to another shop to ask the price they told me $420, i told him "y u go and touch now i wanna go another bike shop and do", ... he say "canNNN but u must pay me for tow and workmanship first then this bike u take there to repair lor".

 

-When i went there to change bike, the sales person refer me to another guy ... he tell me no cannot change ... u want u must pay for old bike repair cost and sell us ur old bike, We take in and sell u new bike "i told them like that i making a lost of $4000", he said "Not he ride and make spoil the bike what!!!"

 

Conclusion: is that this bike shop have the worst after-sales service ... pls tell all ur friend not to buy from this bike shop as i've been with them for 6 Years and Still this is the way treat their Regular customer.

 

So you expect the 'SECOND" bike to perform flawlessly even if you go thrash the bike and ride up to Thailand lah, is it?

 

Why don't ride up to China or Shanghai?

 

No lah... make it, ride up to Japan and if your bike was made in Japan, you surely will be able to find the factory there to provide the neccessary spares and TOP NOTCH SERVICE THAT YOU EXPECT!!!

Assuming that he bought a class 2 bike since he said he's already been with them for 6 years, i wouldn't consider riding up to Thailand as thrashing the bike. Even a properly maintained 400cc will be able to reach Thailand.

Anyway, IMO i think GHC at the bendemeer road quite ok. The only time I bought a bike from motorshop was GHC. and I was a poor student needing a transport for work. I bought a daelim bike at $1000 everything in.

 

Then I got this problem, as all my $$ has been used to pay school fees i dun have enou cash with me. then the saleman did try to help me abit by closing one eyes,, say I pay $700 and then the remaining 300 i pay within the next 2 months therefore I can take 3rd party insurance and also dun need to pay the admin fees for instalment.

 

I nvr read anything abt GHC in bendemeer in this forum, maybe no noise mean good news?? hahaha. anyone has experience from this outlet?

in fact, i believe ther shd b some education held at driving centers so those newbies riders dun go straight to d choopping board after they get their new licence

In fact, many mechanics in motorshop dun know their work. Mostly are from M,sia, and most of them are not as good life to graduate from poly or ite, so they repair based on experience. One most effective ways of troubleshoot is to change the parts loh.. change until the damage part get replcaed then "voila" the bike can run again.

Agree...even a 125 cc bike has made it to Thailand....just bad luck that it broke down.

 

As for the motordiam experience..lessons learned are

 

a. ride your bike (new or old) for a few months in Singapore first before going for long trip

 

b. loyalty with motordiam don't count **** (same with any organisation)..its all abt $$$$$$ bottom line (not you)

 

c. Research your bike to suss out typical parts problem and bring spares for long trip

At the first place you should be very fierce already ... shouldnt let them change the wrong battery... or else kanna eat one ... just keep complaining and they cannot take it one ... they sure change new battery for you... that time my spec 1 front 2 disk brake warp le .. i tell them change they say ok , then i tell them if i buang and die how... all this life and death thingy then they change good ones for me ... must give them bad face one la .. or else they sure eat you
