i gt myslf an auto car and it got those additional gears.

 

what issit for?

 

can it be used for pick up challenge as an advantage?

These are your lower gears for situations where you need torque, rather than speed such as for carrying heavy load when climbing a steep slope. On slippery surface like icy roads, a lower gear will also provide more traction. More importantly, these lower gears are your engine brakes when descending from a long hill.

 

can it be used for pick up challenge as an advantage?

 

There will be a slight time advantage in a drag race scenario. By shifting the gears manually instead of at "D", you can dictate the pace for gear change. However, this may not be true for CVT cars.

like my mazda 3, i can use manual if needed, or auto...

i drive so far never auto jump!

 

from gear 1, i step and go... no jump until i shift "+" then it will go to 2, then stay there... until i shift "+" then go 3 or "-" then will go back to 2

meaning to say for example when u come to a stop at any gear it will automatically go to gear 1 even in the activematic mode. Thats auto at work.

 

and the ECU will not let u change to a gear that will cause damage to the transmission. For example, when going at 150km/hr, it will not allow u to downshift to Gear 2 or lower.
