Hi ,..i just bought a 2nd hand, 2nd version pulsar yesterday,plate fba550*.Can u guys help me rectify the problem im facing,....

1)the bike vibrate very strong even though im travelling 80-90km,the vibration is so strong until my speedometer, the one which can reset to 0000,began to jumble up!!!!!!!!!!

The bike has no sign of accident,and loud rattling sound came from the meter....

 

If replying back is diff,u may call me at 82338628-Fadly

I also facing this problem.... I have change the meter bracket for 2 time already.... still now when i hit 90 there is sound...

Was quoted 4.8k OTR for the pulsar..

What do u guys think of the price??

OTR $4.8K only? So cheap?! U sure it's OTR price & not machine price? :confused:

 

I had a feel of sitting on it too.. felt a bit uncomfortable after a while due to its wide seat and wide tank.. sort of like pushing ur legs

Do u guys experience that??

Bro, it's natural to feel different, weird, uneasy, uncomfortable, etc etc cos u're not used to it, watever bike it is. It's just a matter of getting used to which will take some time. But I agree lah that the ergonomics of the Pulsar's seat n tank could be more 'manhood-friendly'

Does it mean this Pulsar 180 DTS-i have more than 1 version?? If thats the case, how do I know I'm getting the latest version??

the latest version is the one wif digital speedo one...

DTS-i 180 got 3 versions.

1st version only a few bike, chrome engine casing, exhaust, spoke rims

 

2nd version bike engine casing bike exhaust Sport rims.

 

3rd version digital speedo LED taillights

make a search in the thread someone got detail differences stated in here b4.

Here it is again .....

 

Bajaj Pulsar Versions

 

2001 (not available in SG; so Ver 0 in Sg context)

1st Pulsar model. Silver engine chassis; spoke rims; single spark plug; round headlamp dome; short wheelbase; no DTSi & ExhausTEC technology.

 

2003 (1st Pulsar model introduced in SG aka Ver 1)

Silver engine chassis; spoke rims; dual spark plugs (still 1 cylinder); new headlamp assembly; longer wheelbase; with DTSi but not ExhausTEC technology; twin horns; tripmeter.

 

2005 (180 DTS-i aka Ver 2)

Same as 2003 model but with black engine chassis; alloy sports rims; gas-filled Nitrox rear shock absorbers; pilot lamps; ExhausTEC technology. A later variant of this model came with engine kill switch.

 

I have a pamphlet showing a picture of a Pulsar with the same features as the 2005 model but with silver engine chassis, silver exhaust and silver alloy sports rims. I've never seen this model on SG roads so I assume this is an earlier variant of the 2005 model that wasn't introduced in SG.

 

End 2006 (18 DTS-i UG3)

Headlamp encased in black casing; turn signal lights feature clear lens glass with amber bulb; self-cancelling turn indicator switch; LCD screen which offers digital read-out of key vehicle data like speed, fuel balance, trip distance; back lit switches; LED twin-stripe tail light unit; sharper body side panels.

 

Early 2007 (Not available in SG yet) (200 DTS-i)

200cc; tubeless tyres; split seats, split rail grabs; tank cowl; oil cooler; no kick lever (only electric start); no chain cover. Already gotten a bad name in India for several suspension fork failures.

 

Note: All of the above are carb models.

 

Mid - End 2007? (220 DTS-Fi)

220cc. Same as 200cc model but comes with fuel injection, longer wheelbase, rear disc brake, projection headlight, head cowl like Honda CB400 Super Bol D'Or.

20cc makes not much of a diff IMHO...

Max Power:

180cc - 16.5 bhp

200cc - 18 bhp

Bro, that's the tripmeter, not speedometer.

- tripmeter: to tell trip distance

- odometer: to tell total distance travelled

- speedometer: to tell speed

- tachometer: to tell RPM

If u want, we can meet up at Bt Batok. Then I test ride ur bike and u test ride my bike to compare.

 

As for my bike, it's the IU cover that's rattling, even after changing the screws.

me also need tunning for sure.. hehe.. my idling is like almost reach 3k.. i dun know how to reduce the idling lah.. even during the gathering one of you guys remind me. hee.. paiseh..

Goof, look at the LHS of ur carb. U'll find a big screw that's screwed upside down. Turn that screw to adjust the idling speed.

jus came back from JB.. change engine oil, tune my bike, fix the K&N filter and fix handguards. heee

whee. changed to NGK9 spark plugs. now to see if my millage increases. Realized i didnt have to pull throttle as much. later tonight when i work i'll try to feel out the new plugs even more.

 

Went to HKL to enquire on the price of Battlax 110F/120R tires. was quoted 220. hmm.

Oh? You asked a mechanic from malaysia to tune your bike?

 

Notice that there are NO PULSARS IN MALAYSIA? How would the mechanic know how to tune? I'll bet that your bike is currently set too lean right now.
