Thats one good example.

on another note... one AAA batt is 1.5v

12v / 1.5v = 8

8 AAA batteries connected in series will supply the 12v DC that the IU unit requires to run. Which is still smaller than a dry cell. Good luck trying to charge all 8 at the same time. I remember a time ago in NP Coop there was a massive battery charger that can charge 12 batteries at the same time.

On yet another note.

I wonder if its feasible to fabricate a rack to be mounted on the fork of the bike. touring bicycles have that, and you can mount a backpack on each side no problem. but bicycles dont go as fast as bikes. Anyone done the same for a motorbike? any motorbike?

No need so many batt. ONe is enough...

GP HIGH Voltage battery 12V

Model: 23AE, V23GA, MN21

Length: 1 inche, about 2.6cm Thichness about less than a cm.

Cost: 2 bucks

That is what running my IU now. :thumb:

yes agree. but wat is the use for the externally powered IU?

Many uses...

1) the vibrate from the bike will not cause the cover of your IU to get loose...

Thus lessen one noise source...

2) dun worry about the IU get lose in JB (just an excuse)

3) less wind resistant (bullsh*t)

blar blar blar blar (crap)

So where do u put the IU when u need it? Can the ERP sensors still read the IU if it's put in box/bag?

Wat abt when entering/exiting carparks that use ERP technology? The IU would need to be placed at the front rite?

I thinking of mounting it on a bajaj tank bag... currently trying to import from india.

I believe it will still be detected....

I suggest you report these reckless driver to the Traffic Police, so that he will be penalise heavily with demerit points and a heavy fine.

Don't let him run off as he may hit other rider in the near term.

Bros, this afternoon when going for lunch, i start my bike. Wait for 2 mins, then ride off. Bout 20 metres away, my bike off by itself. I e-start few times but bike couldn't start. Kick start, couldn't start either. Tried cranking and cranking for quite some time. Check fuel tap, it's on. Kill switch is on. Until my fren ask me what happen. Then he ask me to use the choke, only then the bike managed to start. The whether is quite hot during that time. What could be the prob? Issit symptoms of spark plug failing or need to carb washing. Pls advise. Thanx..

possible causes:

1. spark plug foul

2. water got into your carb (unlikely coz u using original filter)

3. water in your tank (happened to me. some pressure problems with tank)

Hi guys just some info to my knowledge..I read that in India Honda is not that popular compared to Bajaj,Absolutely true as Honda bikes don have the Fuel Economy built in as the Bajaj, totally Indian Bike for India Roads.Down there 1 litre of Petrol is around 40 Rupees, compared to Sg it's still cheaper but u have to look at India Economy to understand that not all are earning big bucks. Down there they can calculate the exact amount it will incur to go from 1 place to the other and they will top up the exact litres to tahan the whole journey. Moreover the technician can fine tune ure engine to give top fuel economy. That's why Bajaj is still selling like hot cake there. in my w/place 1 colleague is using that bike staying in Woodlands. So everyday to and fro from Jurong island to Woodlands and he tops up every 10 days once.. Me using a steed top up every 2.5 days.. See the difference. So far he had it for bout 7 months and one thing for sure is that the suspension is damn good man.. Still rock solid even though he been riding for 7 months in and out of JI.The road there is like crazy.. too many potholes..

Bro, that's the tripmeter, not speedometer.

- tripmeter: to tell trip distance

- odometer: to tell total distance travelled

- speedometer: to tell speed

- tachometer: to tell RPM

If u want, we can meet up at Bt Batok. Then I test ride ur bike and u test ride my bike to compare.

As for my bike, it's the IU cover that's rattling, even after changing the screws.

:sian:

thanks for answering,..well the next day i went back to universal to tell them my problem, well they tried to fix it by installing rubber to soften the vibrating sound, and wolla!!,..my trip meter works and less vibrate but still im not sure wether my trip meter bracket spoilt.seriously i would love to come by at ur place to test ur bike,...gimme a call,or pm me ur number,..after that we can drink kopi,...my treat,...!!!:p

Sure no problem... just name a place and time...

I also discovered that in UG3 there is a rubber holder to hold the cable, AND if the cable is not put properly.... it can cause the ratting sound when the bike is on the move.

TO all bro with sound in their bike...

Free please check your wiring... dun let any connector hanging loose form the "rubber" holder... itmay ease the cound you having now...

That's y I dun understand how some of the guys here can cruise at above 90 - 100 km/h, some even more, on their Pulsars. Can't imagine the vibrations, not to mention the screaming engine .....

Reading the above gave me an idea on how to reduce my IU's vibrations. I cut a piece of those non-slip mat that motorists place on their dashboards and placed it between the bottom of the IU and the plate of the IU bracket as a buffer.

But alas, it didn't work .....

BRo... I DId it.... a mobile IU unit...

Adriel, can do for me? :cheeky:
