And in case u're wondering y he has 2 Pulsars, that's bcos 1st, he traded in his GSXR. Then his wife pestered him to trade in their S4 for a 2nd Pulsar!

hi all, any way can have better brake? eg, change brake pad, rear disc, caliper etc. pls advise =D

Sigh ..... wat's wrong with ur brakes?

If u service/change ur stock brake components when due, I think they're gd enough leh for normal riding. Rear disc brake no doubt better, but more expensive lor, not to mention u gotta change the rear sprocket at least.

I've skidded (but didn't fall) 2-3 times already when I e-braked at traffic light junctions with cam but that's due to incorrect technique (I clutched in and locked my wheels :faint: ). Luckily using Battlax tyres; if still using stock tyres, would've surely buang my bike. My point is - even under those circumstances, the stock brakes were gd enough to stop my bike (which was picking up speed) from overshooting the stop line.

The Pulsar's brakes (and stock tyres too) may not be the best around, but like I said, are gd enough for normal riding. If u ride ur Pulsar like a sportsbike, then that's a different story altogether lah :nono:

Agreed, the brakes a pretty fine. And I ride my bike pretty slow abt 70-80km/hr, I prefer to enjoy my ride, use it for transport to and from work. and no matter how good the brakes are, if your technique isn't right, you end up skidding

Posted

its the technique of your braking. the brake pads and stock tyres are fine too. cos if its bad, the bike won't even approved by LTA when they try to bring in. getting after market parts of cos make the bike even better. but than again, must go service your brake pad and drums also lah.

for me, i

ve beem ussing front brake most of the time. but not when E-brake lah. heee

Guys.... Here what i found out.... below are some source of the ratting noise which you might be facing..

1)the cable "rubber" hose- in UG3 there is two cable holder in the front.. make sure all connector is in the "rubber" holder... loose cable connector may be knocking againt the metal part the bike when riding...

2) front cowling - there is four screw, two of them is at the side which need to unscrew the screw below the front signal light inorder to reach it. and two screws above the front under plate, tighten these screw... becose these screw come with metal washes. if they are loose, chances is that the washes knockin. Try this method... take any metal plate.. put in a screw and a metal washes.. mke sure is loose than shake it... you will hear the sound. if that is thesound you are hearing when riding... check these screw out.

3) CDI unit - under the meter there is a cdi unit. it is secure by a rubber band, and it is loose... Wat i did is- tighten the unit with a cable tie.

4) our igintion key sloter (the one that we insert our key into) ... after some time, I notice tat the chrome plate seems loose... maybe that might be one of the source... but chances are rare.

5) Our clutch and brake lever. check the screw. cause if it is loose... the lever shake and produce noise also...

I going test run later... wish me luck.

Of course. Metal knocking against metal will definitely create noise. I put only 2 keys on my bike keychain.

For Ver 2, I dun think so cos I noticed that the pointer will go back to the start of the red zone of the fuel gauge every time I switched to reserve.

In my case, the point at which I had to switch to reserve once the fuel gauge pointer enters the red zone is not consistent lah. So besides looking at the fuel gauge, I also look at the tripmeter which I use to take note of my mileage per tank (I reset it during each top-up). Once my tripmeter shows 610-620 km, I know it's time to top-up liao.

whee page 100...

anyways regarding the fuel meter, i believe that the meter for UG3 is inclusive of the reserve. when it starts to hit two bars... standby to twist the fuel tap.

just topped up at 2nd link earlier. now gonna stop riding like a maniac and see if my FC being so damn low is due to my panniers... or the crazy riding i like to do. :p

Just to check.. Before i change tyre...

RPM 6.2 K = 80k/m

Rpm 7k = 88k/m

After i change to battlax (Both tyre) @ universe today...

Rpm 6.2 = 72km/h

Rpm 7k = 80km/h
