I have changed mineral oil twice and the bike shop says that Semi-Syn to change at the next 1000km again will also be ok. He was telling me after 500km, the engine should be quite clean already. Currently I moving over to Semi-Syn for my next 2 oil change at 1000km. Perhaps when I hit 2500km then i will try Fully-Syn.

A word of advice never believe what the bike shop, books or magazines says. You can believe those who tried themselves or those you trust thier judgement and opinions. The best is that you have done some research and you have tried yourselves the rest is bullshit

Haha thats totally true you are 1 of the lucky ones who got them. They are the most heaviest balanciers you will ever get in spore market. No more production.Well if those guys who are interested could compile the total number of people who want and i will get back to you people for the updates.I have been pretty busy with my busa LOL.I am thinking of selling away my pulsar to get a Bandit cause my camp is at changi and due to my size:sian:

What rubbish loh.The front indicates the thickness of the engine oil,the rear numbers indicate the temperature the engine oil is able to withstand:faint: :faint:

That's rite. I'm using Maxima Maxum4 Extra 15W50 fully-syn (cos Maxima has no fully-syn 20W50, but has semi-syn 20W50).

Differences in performance are due to type (semi or fully-syn) and quality of the various EO brands.

Both nos. indicate the viscosity (thickness) of a multi-grade oil. Front no. indicate viscosity at cold starting temperature during winter. End no. indicates viscosity at high operating temperature during summer.

U mentioned in ur previous post that we shouldn't believe wat we read in books n magazines. But u also mentioned that the best is to do some research. So here's wat I got from my research .....

Multi-grade motor oil

The temperature range the oil is exposed to in most vehicles can be wide, ranging from cold ambient temperatures in the winter before the vehicle is started up to hot operating temperatures when the vehicle is fully warmed up in hot summer weather. A specific oil will have high viscosity when cold and a low viscosity at the engines operating temperature. The difference in viscosities for any single-grade oil is too large between the extremes of temperature. To bring the difference in viscosities closer together, special polymer additives called viscosity index improvers are added to the oil. These additives make the oil a multi-grade motor oil. The idea is to cause the multi-grade oil to have the viscosity of the base number when cold and the viscosity of second number when hot. The viscosity of a multi-grade oil still varies logarithmically with temperature, but the slope representing the change is lessened. This slope representing the change with temperature depends on the nature and amount of the additives to the base oil.

The API/SAE designation for multi-grade oils includes two grade numbers; for example, 10W-30 designates a common multi-grade oil. The first number associated with the W (again 'W' is for Winter, not Weight) is not rated at any single temperature. The "10W" means that this oil can be pumped by your engine as well as a single-grade SAE 10 oil can be pumped. "5W" can be pumped at a lower temperature than "10W". "0W" can be pumped at a lower temperature than "5W", and thins less at temperatures above 99°C (210°F). The second number, 30, means that the viscosity of this multi-grade oil at 100°C (212°F) operating temperature corresponds to the viscosity of a single-grade 30 oil at same temperature. The governing SAE standard is called SAE J300. The motor oil grade and viscosity to be used in a given vehicle is specified by the manufacturer of the vehicle.

No offence cos I'm not trying to prove anything or argue with anyone. Just sharing my humble knowledge for the benefit of all cos that's wat this forum is all abt, isn't it?

Adriel went to the back lane to look at the bapoks and found a shop that re-wrap seats. So the 3 of us went to check it out. The shop fella quoted RM50 for the type of seat cover with dotted texture + extra cushioning. Takes 1h to do the job, shop is opened 6pm - 3 am FYI.

so RM50 for one color lah? 1 hour wait ah.. errrmm.. Adriel enough right to hanky panky with bapok. hah!

anyway if you tell the guy, to custom make a tank bra and tell him if he succeeded in doing one, sure more than 10 pulsar will come and do the tank bra. he make lotsa money. but tell him also dun tag the price to high. RM50 sudah!. heee

hi there from my humble experience, its better to use 20w50.Cause it needs thicker oil to reduce the vibration of the engine and its recommended by the manual. If you look closely and carefully there are pieces of black custom made rubber around the sides of the engine to reduce the vibration.I tried before semi-syn Castrol 15w50 long distance ride the vibration is horrible plus terrible but short distance pick up is faster. And when the engine gets really hot due to prolong ride the bike losts power.

Thanks for the valuable information, bro. so wat brand of EO, you recommend or using now ?

Gonna need some TLC to make it good-to-go. Already resprayed the top lid black... now need some rubber to replace the ones that fell out. right now using discarded inner tubes, lol.

No, no. The '20' & '50' in 20W50 do not stand for 20 & 50 degrees celsius respectively. They are SAE grade nos. Click on the link below for further reading (that is if u can be bothered lah :cheeky: )

My payday on the 12th so maybe can do together to get better deal :cheeky:

For the RM50 quotation, the texture is grainy, like with small dots. Similar to Spai_duhz's seat cover but without the ctr strap. :btw: he did his for $30 in Sg. There's also the snake skin type, but didn't ask how much. U can also have the pillion part of the seat covered with glossy leather of a different color to make ur seat look like single-seater. Can also stitch words on the seat cover. Wah piang, I think I'm poisoning u guys with all these stuff already :cheeky:

Actually I planned to bring this matter up to Universal but totally forgot abt it when I went there this afternoon for servicing. Wanted to ask them whether Bajaj produce original Pulsar tank bra. If no, then maybe Universal can source for aftermarket ones in India cos there's demand for it here.

Anyway, Adriel & I are working on something with regards to tank bra & belly pan for Pulsar. Just that we're keeping it under wraps for the time being cos we dun wanna give anyone false hopes :D
