i'm actually looking for a cost efficient bike. but i'm worried that since pulsar is not as popular as other honda/yamaha bikes, would maintenace be a exp? is it able to last 5 years without frequent breakdowns?

There is no Tank bra for Puslar except "G-string"

For Belly pan, you can customise from RXZ or S4.

No bike is maintenance free. From what I read in this forum thread, the Pulsar is one of those which do not have major problems. Minor problems are almost always there, especially when u start adjusting this and that, and other things...

as any other mechanical thing, wear and tear is there. so to reduce any long-run problems, its good to always go for maintenance regularly.. 5000km change EO, regularly check your chain slack, tyre pressure, blaa blaa.. it's all there for you to read..

Bajaj is a HUGE company in India, and they're known for their reliability in India.. But this is SSingapore. think about it, if it can last long in India, with Indian Roads, what about singapore? it SHOULD be able to last longer... yes?

some more, the bajaj main dealer, UM, has a decent stock of parts, so it shouldnt be any more of a prob.

again.. i say this from what i read from the thread, from start to finish, not a rider... Any rider would probably have the same sentiments.

so yes, if you're not fussy abt top speed & performance, then the Pulsar is a good choice. =)

besides, waht other bike can go to malacca, or even KL, and back, on a single tank?

haha. i dun mean maintenace free la. i mean maintenance more troublesome or wad. actually i'm really worried that spare parts may not be that readily available, even if can find, it would be expensive. is it possible that UM would stop distributing Bajaj and the market value will drop drastically?? hee.. i know i ask alot of qns, but just wanna be sure before i decide on which bike to get :)

actually, how many motor tiam sells pulsars n knows how to repair pulsars? i stay in the west, if breakdown, is there any motor diam in the west that can help to repair?

NOOO!!

The book recommends every 2.5k change EO. i change every 2k since its easier to calculate, since i hit 2k about each month or so. pay installment, then at the same time change EO. one silver bottle of castrol 20w50 gets dirty very quickly. theres this crazy dude that i met on the rude in the middle of a delivery who was very proud of his version 1, which he faithfully changed EO every 1.5k which is a tad bit too much imho.

i spray chainlube after each time i fill up my tank, which is about 600 km ++. at the same time i fill tire pressure 18/33psi. 14k on my millage and i only adjusted my chain once. its not good to let the chainlube degrade into a crusty black mass on your chain, it will wear out the sprockets and chain faster.

every 10k you will want to change your air filter. or clean it with kerosene, if you feel that paying 8 bucks for a piece of sponge to be rediculous.

i have yet to see anyone needing an overhaul yet. except for the lazy ones who only change EO and air filter when the bike starts giving problems (which by then is too late). its just one bottle every 2k, and i cover that much in a month, and i work mc delivery @ jurong bowl, for goodness sakes.
