I am proud to say that I have just taken over bro paiseh's (alex) bajaj pulsar yesterday and am now a fellow Pulsarian Hope a newbie like me can learn alot from you guys..

 

Anyway, alex had been been very accomodating and a very nice person to boot.. not forgetting his good knowledge of bikes .. a fellow student from ntu also.. hahah.. will remember your words bout being careful on the road man and to chill when others(i just had 4 so far.. 2 cabs and 2 minivans. hmmph) cut you or whatever.. just stay calm and focus on the road..

 

ok, so here i am.. hope to enjoy the adventure ahead

Went to Universal Motors yesterday afternoon to hand over my scratched top box to Michael. Was surprised to see that my bike has been fully repaired in 2 days only, complete with a new Kappa K35 top box - same model as my old one. My exhaust was replaced with the chrome 1. The only repair left to be done is to the tank which has a small dent. UM is replacing my tank with another 1 which is being re-sprayed. Since this will take a few more days, they're letting me take my bike 1st on Mon after meeting UM's lawyer to settle the paperwork for my insurance claim against the other party.

 

Best of all, I need not pay in full for the repairs. Michael told me to just pay $300 - $400 as 'deposit' while waiting for my insurance claim to be settled.

Of course. Clear-cut case. As long as u hit another vehicle's rear, u're at fault, regardless of the circumstances.

I jus buang at CTE toward city (between amk ave 5 and ave 3). i was riding in the middle of the car lane 1 and 2 (riding at the white line) travelling roughly below 60km/h. Suddenly a Gilera Runner rider (abt 30++ age old) from 3 lane cut into lane 2 and into the white line without giving any signal or check his blind spot. when i saw it no time to horn but to E-brake only.. i bang into his rear and fall on my left and my balancer dented the car on his right engine (abt a plam size).

 

i suffer minor abrasions on my left elbow and my pillion got abrasions on his knee bigger than a 50 cent coin. The Gilera rider do not even fall.. but i scratches ur exhaust and dent smaller than 1 cent coin.

 

knowing that as long as i hit another vehicle's rear, is my fault, so i told the gilera person, we share half half for the repair on the dent at the car.

 

Guys, do u think i'm doing the right thing? Or should i ask the Gilera rider to pay all?

 

btw my bike damage are:

bend gear lever - which i manage to kick back to postion and ride to amk ave 1 bike shop to repair.

broken left mirror (wat aftermarket mirror is good? at ah boy?)

lastly lost left signal yellow cover (how much will it cost at Universal Motors)

You want mirror? i got spare. Signal light cover... dun bother replace... go get a new pair of signal light. Say less than 20 ? Signal light can go LAB to get OEM ones... maybe nicer than stock.

Guys,

 

There is too much accident involved Puslar this fews day. Please Ride with extreme care. Regardless whos fault, we rider are always at lost. Any slight buay, it may cause our lives.

 

I always remember this Golden rules, it had been taught to me by SAF back in 1998.

 

YOU ARE THE SAFEST RIDER/DRIVER on this EARTH ! Treat other Road user around you like BAKA (Idiot in Japanese)

 

Always have this "Road Six Sense". Anticipate the movement of vehicle infront of you. or behind you.

 

Dun ride as if you have the right of ways. Dun ride as if you dun care about your "Surrounding". Look at your Rears mirror,Front and side. Always Give way.

 

IF you know that a vehicle is coming behind you at high speed or even fastest than you, Dun give that type of attiude that you dun care cause you have the right of ways. Dun forget that most of the car out there is AUTOMATIC and has ABS. IN short distance E-brake, ABS is sucks. it dun stop.

 

And Most important. Know your bike ability and capabiltiy. Know what can BOth of Rider and ride DO and wat YOUR RIDE (bike) cannot do and NOT wat you can DO !

 

1) Know your bike braking distance.

2) Know what reaction YOUR bike will give during e-brake

3) Know what is your bike throttle response.

4) Know your pickup speed in different gear

5) Know your Demension of your bike. Width, Length and so.

6) Know the estimate distance of other vehicle reflect in your mirror.

7) know what is the different of ur bike ability when there is a pillion on board.

 

When you know the above, it time of emergency, you can react accordingly.

GO in between car if you need to (but make sure u open throttle), use the shoulder lane if you need to ( make sure u go back to the correct lane).

 

Traffic rules is to regulate and help us to make riding/driving safe. BUT dues to those "BAKA", IF you need to break the rules, BREAK IT. Dun because of the Rules that you lose your life. NOt worth.

 

Once you know, your bike and yourself's limit. There is nothing that you can't achieve. ONce a decision is make, go for it. Dun regret.

Regardless weather the driver see or not, make a police report. making a report doesn't mean that you care claiming againt the Gilera. It is to cover you, in case the driver or the gilera make a report againt u. Is a offence for not making a report in 24 hours time. you can be charge for 200 and 6 point.

 

When making the report, give the police the driver's car plate number and so.

Or making a outside settlement, make sure there is a Black and white.

 

As for the signal light, you can get any OEm that you like.

Not all accidents require a police report, even if the police is present at the accident scene or if u go to NPP/NPC/police station to make a report.
