Pulsar 180. $4.6k OTR quoted by Universal Motors. It includes IU, Brand new rear box with rear light (with base plate of course). It excludes Insurance. My age, 22, 3rd party insurance is $295 per year. Im a happy man. I have ordered my Pulsar and it will come to me latest by next tues.

I have taken some pictures at Universal MOtors today. The box is very very firm which i really like alot. The IU is also placed in a very nice place. The new model now has a rear suspension, triple rating spring, 5 way adjustable, NitroX shock absorbers. the pictures all very nice.

Older models only hold 16litre + 2litre reserve.

Newer models hold 13litres + 2 litres reserve, with sports rims, tubeless tyres.. and adjustable rear shock. thats all i can tink off now. pls correct me if im wrong. thanks.

enjoy the pics.

Bro,

U sure abt the newer model's fuel capacity? Cos wat u're saying is that the newer model's fuel capacity is lesser than that of the older model.

yes, am very sure. It states 15litres (with 2 littres reserve) which most likely means 13litres + 2 litres reserve. If not, den it would be 17litres full tank which i hope it will be. will update my fuel consumption here after my run in.

No more regrets.

Finally found the link I came across some time back to share with you guys. If you want to or can, hold out for the new 06 models. With FI, you may be getting even better economy!

http://www.indiainfoline.com/news/news.asp?cate=auto

Bajaj Auto has unveiled its 2006 model line-up at the Auto-Expo being held at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi. With specific new launches in fiscal 2006–2007, the Bajaj presentation sparkles both in the motorcycle and un-geared Scooter categories. This product line-up undeniably reaffirms Bajaj Product leadership by offering consumers innovative technology, unique features, outstanding performance and landmark styling.

Rajiv Bajaj, Managing Director, said, “With the Pulsar DTS-Fi, we would be one of the first companies to introduce Electronic Fuel Injection technology on a motorcycle in India. The achievement is remarkable as Fuel Injection by itself is a technology that few companies have mastered. It has been developed and has been introduced in passenger cars and a few high performance super sports motorcycles abroad. Fuel Injection, however, is the technology of the future as it offers superior and consistent engine performance with improved drivability, lower emissions, improved fuel economy, and extended life."

He went on to add, ”A point to be noted is that never has Fuel Injection been married with DTS-i technology whether in India or abroad. What is therefore even more remarkable is that Bajaj Auto has further improved on the basic Fuel Injection technology by combining it with DTS-i technology to deliver one of the most efficient production engines ever. This remarkable technological break-through, christened DTS-Fi (Digital Twin Spark-Fuel injection) is something, which Bajaj Auto R & D can be justifiably very proud of. This technology is first being presented on the Sports motorcycle the “Pulsar DTS-Fi” to be launched this fiscal.” The range of 2-wheelers on display led by the Pulsar DTS-Fi is:

The Pulsar DTS-Fi:

The Bajaj Pulsar DTS-Fi completely redefines current motorcycle technology, style and performance and takes it to the next level. The Pulsar DTS-Fi, Sports motorcycle has a large capacity DTS-Fi engine with ExhausTEC to give an absolutely unparalleled performance combined with good fuel efficiency.

Besides the highly efficient engine, the Pulsar DTS-Fi has many other firsts to its credit such as Projector headlamp, which compliments the Sporty looks. These Twin stacked headlamps, one a parabolic, and the other a projector, ensures clear bright illumination at both Hi-beam and Low-beam setting. The Oil cooling system is another first in the country.

The widest in class tyres, largest diameter front forks, both front and rear Disc Brakes and Elliptical section Swing arm provide for better handling and performance under sports riding conditions. The LED tail lamp in the “Pulsar DTS-Fi” enhances the sportier looks of the bike. The vehicle also incorporates hi-tech Digital instrumentation for the Speedometer and Fuel gauge to complete the Generation Next package.

This is how the FI model should look like:

BTW, the FI model is 250cc. Release in Delhi Expo, said to have 21 little ponies and to be release late 2006? This model is said to go up against Yamaha Fazer 250. Note the LED taillight and project headlamps? :D

Bajaj Auto crosses 2 million sales mark

Bajaj Auto Ltd (BAL), announced on Thursday, that it crossed two million vehicle sales landmark for the first time ever. It expects to close the current financial year with 2.2 million vehicle sales against sales of 1.6 million last year.

Bajaj plans to introduce new bike in the value segment in the coming quarter followed by four new products both in ungeared scooters and motorcycle category in fiscal 2006-07.

Bajaj has already reached 24 per cent market share in January of the value segment owing to rapid growth of Bajaj Discover and Discover DTS-i, which recorded sales of 58,000 numbers in January 2006. Bajaj Auto will be introducing Pulsar DTS-Fi, later in fiscal 2006-07.

Bajaj

What they had on display: If the crowds were any indication, Bajaj was the clear leader in spectator traffic, at least in the motorcycle booths. Bajaj had some advanced, even concept-ish motorcycles on display, though none were teasers.

When we'd finished ogling the bigger than Pulsar 180 machine, which sported fuel injection (to called DTS-Fi), projector headlamp, an oil-cooler, rear disc brake, LED taillamps -- each one an India first -- they told us they'd launch it, lock, stock and smoking barrel.

Next to the big Pulsar was the aggressive and wedgy new Pulsar 180, also due for launch within the calendar year. Bajaj showed off a new platform called the Sonic, meant to be a sporty machine for the college kid, which looked very stylish and sported all the right bits.

The scooters were represented by the Wave, the current in-production scooter, the Kristal -- another 2006 launch intended for the college-going girl, and the superb Blade, which aims squarely at the more macho, Italian style of scooters. The Blade sported disc brakes, alloy wheels, fat telescopic forks and looked very, very good.

What they didn't bring: Despite showing off four new machines, Rajiv Bajaj told the media that this was not all that would get launched in 2006! Bajaj did not show, for instance, the executive-class machine they intend to launch very shortly. Or for that matter, the plethora of unobtainable eye-candy from the Kawasaki stable.

What we think: Among the two-wheeler displays, Bajaj's booth was head and shoulders above the rest for looking forward pointedly, and still staying grounded and realistic. The point to note is that Bajaj showed off production-ready technologies that another two-wheeler maker had put on display to gauge audience responses.

Check out the Yamaha Gladiator 150 and Fazer 250. http://www.xbhp.com/articles/autoexpo06/gl...er250/page1.php :lovestruck:

Just to say that there're various reports, press releases, news, etc. that says the FI is 225cc, 250cc. Not that much of a concern anyway.

Yours is in betweens IF your bajaj logo the 'B' is blue and engine casing is black.

The in betweens is actually my own terms.

The tyre is NOT tubeless but the rims can take in tubeless..So next tyre change can change to tubeless

Hows does the twin spark plug work?

Means it has 2 cylinders?

they fire concurrently/simultaneously to improve fuel efficiency. very clever technology.

the 250 EFI model looks a lot better..... as opposed to the 180 carb model.

will consider that if it gets to the shores here soon. :cheer:

i tried that method on my wave and fz6 before, so far so good. just need to constantly change oil during the hard break in.

i change at the first 100km, and then 800km, 1600km, 2400km, 5000km and then every 5000km.
